This position pays $110,000 plus an outstanding benefits and bonus structure.

He / She will be responsible for coding, modifying, debugging, documentation and maintenance of existing and new groups in-house applications and systems based on Guidewire ClaimCenter technologies.
The ideal individual is accountable to estimate the work and ensure high quality deliverable on-time while adhering to policies and procedures of the group.

Key Accountabilities / Deliverables
Projects and Development – 80%
Communicate regularly with the business analyst to interpret, clarify and plan for the implementation of user stories.
Understand and apply industry practices, architectural standards and procedures relating to work assignments.
Design, develop and maintain GOSU language application code within Guidewire ClaimCenter.
Configure business rules and other business logic in Gosu using Guidewire or J2EE components.
Ability to work on Guidewire Plug-ins, Messaging, Events, Batch Processing and API.
Ability to provide estimates for coding, unit and testing efforts.
Able to articulate technical solutions by proposing viable options, in Guidewire ecosystem.
Work in Agile environments.

System Support – 10%
Work on system issues, bugs and enhancements
Support existing systems and integrations
Prioritize and coordinate handling of level-3 support requests and/or major incidents
Analyze and resolve system issues
Able to communicate with users / team members to coordinate and manage tickets
Resolve and deliver fixes in timely manner
Thorough testing of all changes prior to delivery
Follow-through and diligence on all high priority items

Team Initiatives and Policies – 10%
Help team with development and implementation of initiatives such as: [10%]
Centralized source code control repository
Standardized development environment setup
Build and follow software development life-cycle
Help develop and document Standards, Templates and Practices for best outputs from the team

Participate in Team Tasks such as:
Peer review of other team members code
Mentor Junior developers
Use of TFS to track all changes
Use of SharePoint to share all team and project documents
Adherence to source control guidelines and systems

In addition to the above key responsibilities, the ideal candidate may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require

Person Specification
Minimum 5 years or more in a development role.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology or related field

Technical Knowledge and Understanding
5+ years of Web Based Java Development experience
3+ years working with Guidewire ClaimCenter
Understanding of the Guidewire data model and Guidewire terminologies
Usage of Source Control System (e.g. Git)
Guidewire Configuration/Integration certification
Knowledge and demonstrated ability with GOSU and Java programming
Ability to design, develop, and modify software, including object-oriented programming concepts
Knowledge of Claim and Financial life cycles

Configuration Experience
Design and development of ClaimCenter configuration modules
Experience in ClaimCenter PCF, Data Model, LOB structure and ability to extend/design as needed
Experience in ClaimCenter Rule Engine flow with Activity Pattern configuration and ability to implement Assignment, Approval, Validation, PreUpdate, PostUpdate rules with Transaction approval routing
Experience in Guidewire upgrade tool, Guidewire Studio and Guidewire ClaimCenter Administration tools

Data integration skills and knowledge to integrate via point to point or via ODS
Experience in ClaimCenter Integration with Policy Management, ContactManager, Document Management, Authentication, ISO, Mitchell, etc.
Experience in ClaimCenter Events, Messaging, Plugin and Batch Process implementation.
Experience in Web Service implementation (Service and Client) with XML/XSD by using Guidewire Integration methods.

Experience of working both independently and collaboratively with various teams and global stakeholders (Business Analysts/ Architects/ Support/ Business) in an agile approach while working on projects or data quality issues
Experience participating in large Business Integration efforts and being a member of a project team through all phases of the project lifecycle from scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and go live
Property & Casualty Insurance industry experience
Strong ability in designing and coding at an enterprise commercial standard
Knowledge of Development Lifecycle methodologies
Excellent knowledge of application architecture, techniques, design patterns and strategies
