Our client, a Government based Oil and Gas sector is looking forward to recruit for the position of "Technical Trainer (Opns)” in Abu Dhabi.

OFFSHORE Location 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepares, develops and delivers Operations training programmes for ex-ATI Operator Developees utilizing efficient training methodology and materials such as computer based training, drawings, sketches and audio-visual aids.  This includes the use of job analysis techniques and the preparation of training objectives, instructional plans, structured on job programmes, progress and competency tests.  Conducts Client Plant visits with associated Plant and classroom tasks. 
  • Supervises all operations' developees while on the plant during their initial training and is responsible for their safety and discipline. 
  • Prepares, develops and delivers Operations training programmes for graduate Engineer Developees and Plant specific courses for Operations' employees. 
  • Arranges and conducts cross-discipline training for Operator developees and Maintenance developees. 
  • Implements a competency based approach to training and prepare competency tasks, assessments, tests and monitoring.  Follows up on On-Job training to ensure training objectives are met and ensuring that developees progress and their placement into the planned target job is according to approved programmes 
  • Maintains competency records, flexibility records and Plant specific course attendance for Operations Division.  Identifies future training requirements in liaison with Lead Job Instructor and Operations personnel. 
  • Liaises with Health, Safety & Environment Division and Fire & Safety Department to coordinate safety training programmes including: Breathing Apparatus and fire fighting training, first aid and emergency exercises. Participates in the coordination of emergency exercises including planning, administration, monitoring and debriefing. Arranges and conducts annual Crew Award exercise. 
  • Provides general one week induction to new Operations' recruits and assists in their general administration, issuing of Personal Protective Equipment, arranging Fire and Safety Training, ensuring Standing Orders and General Operating Procedures are read.  Conducts short Operations training/familiarization courses. 
  • Liaises with other Divisions, Departments to arrange training lectures given by individuals specializing in various disciplines. 
  • Prepares, writes and updates training resources according to Client Plant modifications and identifies training resource needs. 
  • Performs other similar or related duties such as participating in Developee Review Meetings in training meetings, evaluation of course materials, submitting developee progress reports, etc.
Skills Required:
  • Having offshore experience.
  • Experience in the oil/gas industry in an operations or training position including 2 years in training field, with the relevant industry experience plus a formal qualification in teaching / training for adult education. 
  • Very good knowledge of English, knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
