We have been approached by our client, a leading oil and gas based in Abu Dhabi for the position of Senior Integrity Engineer

Purpose and Scope
Analyze, diagnose and solve significant plant issues relating primarily to production opportunity losses and integrity and reliability events and trends.  This includes issues concerning all aspects of the plant in operations, maintenance, engineering, projects, management, training, and quality in order to provide long-term proactive results.
Specific Duties
  • Acts as Independent Competent Person for assuring integrity of assets & Develops with Corrosion and Inspection Department the relevant HSECES performance standards for design and operation phase
  • Diagnoses problems to determine the root cause (Leads and facilitates root cause analysis of high risk events).Identifies and obtains assistance as necessary in order to determine the root cause, whether from other departments within THE COMPANY or from outside contractors as required.
  • Monitors performance of related fixed assets which caused production loss or high risk to identify short and long term concerns and issue recommendations
    General Duties Performed
  • Review plant information concerning assigned analysis activities to determine what actual problem requires resolution and obtain any additional information needed to understand the problem.
  • Establishes and maintains file for each analysis to assure future feedback can be analyzed for proactive improvements.
  • Diagnoses problems to determine the root cause.Identifies and obtains assistance as necessary in order to determine the root cause, whether from other departments within THE COMPANY or from outside contractors as required.
  • Supervises the work of contractors during the execution of any assistance needed for problem resolution (including contract and material issues) or for any special studies.
  • Ensures that the work is integrated with that of other Departments and Divisions to prevent duplication of efforts.P&R analysis will be broader scope than typical work performed by other Divisions and Departments.
  • Works with other Divisions and Departments to ensure the provision of adequate service. This includes obtaining service agreements where necessary and providing time estimates for work completion and advising the Divisions/Departments of relevant priorities.
  • Carries out technical review at all stages of Plant modifications and subsequent construction and implementation to verify modifications satisfy the expectations of the P&RD recommended action.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in relevant standards and improvements in associated technology, equipment design, and Inspection practices to support proactive resolution of problems under review by P&RD.
  • Provides information to the Head, Performance & Reliability as necessary for the Integrity issues, Turn around scheduling / deferment and for issues requiring reporting to higher levels of management.
  • Provides mechanical engineering expertise assistance to other P&RD engineers during the development of resolutions by them.
  • Directs and supervises on-the-job training and instruction of assigned trainees.
  • Ensures that reports are prepared for problem resolution that are complete, including basic recommended action plan, general costs, timing for action, reasons why action is necessary, and what are risks if action is not taken by responsible group.
  • Track implementation of recommended actions to assure that action taken satisfies the expectations for problem resolution.
  • Reviews completed problem solutions with other activities to identify lessons learned that could be utilized in other applications.
    Reports to Head, Performance & Reliability. Plans and carries out assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures and professional engineering standards. Completed assignments are subject to review.
    Minimum Requirements
  • B. Sc. in Metallurgy Engineering or equivalent.
  • 12 years experience in the oil refining or petrochemical industry including 6 years supervisory experience. Or 15 years engineering experience in the oil refining or petrochemical industry, including 10 years as a mechanic and 5 years functioning as an engineering equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
