Our client, a leading oil and gas company based in Abu Dhabi is looking forward to recruit Reliability Specialist

Job Purpose:
  • Initiates and develops operation, maintenance and spare parts strategies for all operational sites plants and equipment, and ensures effective implementation of these strategies. Develop standards and procedures for maintenance practices in line with the company maintenance strategy
  • Ensures integrity of safety critical system including protection system such as ESD, F&G. provides technical expertise and assistance to operational divisions on all matters related to reliability engineering, reliability assessment, reliability monitoring for all process equipment and plants. Carries out reliability / availability studies and report plants performance analysis. Carries out reliability improvement studies and defines short and medium term action plans
  • Develops / Review business processes as per Maintenance policies. Develop/review/endorse OMI philosophies for new projects and review / endorse PMs and job plans to be uploaded in CMMS
  • Devises and develop maintenance performance mechanisms analysis; including costs, Spare parts consumption, Client efficiency. Issues regular and specific reports on maintenance performances.
  • Carry out audit on operational and maintenance practices and make recommendation to close identified gaps
  • Carry out internal and external Benchmark on operation and maintenance plants performance

    Principal Accountabilities
  • Contributes to the preparation of the annual divisional plan to ensure resource requirements and work programmes
  • Prepares and issues maintenance policies and strategies including maintenance action plan and defining necessary rules and analysis required for best maintenance type for each system. Leads and coordinates the implementation of maintenance strategy on sites and introduces necessary condition monitoring techniques. Ensures training site employees on failure analysis, spare parts consumption analysis etc. Review/ Endorse maintenance job plan and maintenance frequencies of all equipment and develops tools and methods to carry out such revision
  • Develop update spare parts strategy and supporting procedures
  • Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans. evaluates equipment operability and maintainability. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria
  • Reviews package for new projects and recommends on equipment selection and redundancy
  • Carry out RAM modeling to predict and improve plant and system availability/Reliability
  • Conducts reliability studies for existing plants and defines reliability improvement plan
  • Conduct remnant life assessment of equipment and systems and life cycle cost analysis
  • Conduct plant and equipment Performance analysis in order to develop maintenance action plans in line with new maintenance approach. Advises operation and technical service teams on troubleshooting of non-routine equipment failure and cause analysis
  • Develops and implements a maintenance optimization programme using Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RAM). Uses Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) data and carries out Failure Mode, Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis. Develops life cycle cost model and reliability tools.
  • Ensures provision of an effective CMMS system administration service to all the CMMS users within the company. Review and Endorse the asset register database. Determines support for maintenance strategy and Business requirements. Ensures compliance, transfer/provision of necessary data to the system and defines common codes to be used in the integrated system
  • Participates in equipment review and proposes new solutions alerts on obsolescence of equipment. Carries out the review of the commissioning and the two years operation spare parts
  • Supervises, reviews and recommends necessary modification/replacement of equipment to overcome technical problems and ensure plant effectiveness. Assists operational sites to develop appropriate monitoring techniques to help reflecting the equipment real conditions.
  • Leads and supervises specific scheme/works allocated to Reliability in different disciplines including mechanical, electrical and instrumentation
  • Provides input to Risk Management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability risks that could adversely impact plant operation
  • Ensures implementation of safety policy, standards and procedures, training of personnel on safety requirement/action to secure safe operation and maintenance works

    Communications & Organizational Relationships
  • Daily contacts with Operating Divisions Managers / Team Leaders/ Section Leaders on all Company locations to discuss studies, recommendations and performance measures and for technical assistance provision, training activities, analysis, troubleshooting and other related aspects
  • Frequent contacts with other Division / Team Leaders / section leaders including engineering, Commercial Finance, Information Technology, Safety & Environment etc., for solving problems related to scope of work, contracts preparation and negotiation, cost reporting and risk analysis, equipment selection, pertaining recommendations, maintenance strategy and CMMS
  • Regular contacts with Asset Managers, Team Leaders and section leader within the Asset Units, Manager Facility Engineering, Manager CAMS for coordination and cooperation
  • Occasional contacts with contracting companies up to managers level to discuss technical aspect of works, standard compliance and deliverables etc

    Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline
  • Post graduation in Reliability engineering
  • 15 years experience mainly in oil/petrochemical industry with background of modern maintenance systems
  • Good knowledge of Reliability tools and standards
