POST TITLE: Rigging Instructor
RESPONSIBLE TO: Training Supervisor
JOB PURPOSE: The role of a Rigging Instructor is to instruct and deliver both theoretical and practical training elements. To develop course material and to mentor those who come under their responsibility. During training activities the training supervisor must ensure the safety and welfare of delegates at all times.
Currently you will hold all OR most of these qualifications
  • Appropriate technical certificates and trade discipline qualifications with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience, supervisor experience wold be advantageous.
  • D32/D33 or A1 or QCF equivalent or industry equivalent.
  • Hold a PTLLS, Cert Ed or PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification.

  1. Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with Company Q&HSE requirements;
  2. To ensure the safety and welfare of students and other parties during the conduction of training activities;
  3. Report all accidents and 'Near-Miss' incidents as part of the Company's 'proactive safety culture';
  4. Deliver training in compliance with relevant legislative, company policies, industry standards and expectations including client contractual requirements;
  5. Conduct courses to the necessary competence level ensuring continual assessment of students is carried out;
  6. Where relevant, assist in the training and development of staff and to undertake additional training as directed by Company to ensure necessary competence for the duties and responsibilities of their post;
  7. Take personal ownership of upholding their competence levels; understanding and familiarisation with Industry Standards and accreditations to ensure satisfactory delivery of training;
  8. Produce, develop and present 'PowerPoint' training packages;
  9. Behave in accordance with the Company's Core Values ensuring a high standard of quality and company reputation is maintained;
  10. Ensure a high operational readiness of all equipment is sustained, including supervision and conduction of appropriate safety checks and maintenance;
  11. Ensure a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness is maintained throughout the establishment;
  12. Be proactive in identifying unsafe behaviour or practice.
  13. Contribute to the development of management systems by participating in designated workgroups and projects specific to their section or as directed by Company needs;
  14. Regular interaction with other departments to ensure operational excellence.
  15. To undertake such other duties and responsibilities as commensurate with the nature of the post and other duties required by management.
