Our client,a government based oil and gas sector is looking forward to recruit for the position of "Construction and Installation Manager " in Abu Dhabi.
Job Duties:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline or equivalent.
  • 15-20 years of work experience in projects Heavy construction, Design and Execution of work in the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of project managements and oil and gas industry standards.
  • Understanding of commercial terms, HSE requirements.
  • Planning, leadership and Time Management Skills.
  • Develops and implements project strategies, project plans and budgets covering all phases of the project from inception to completion and hand-over.
  • Coordinates with all company concerned divisions to ensure project is in line with current/future company requirements, manages relevant interface with current and future projects and to develop smooth handover to the company uses.
  • Manages and implements technical and commercial strategies set for the project and highlight to the project manager any deviations and propose corrective actions.
  • Plans, leads and directs the functions of the pipelines and Wellhead towers Project Team in the implementation of all phases from inception until completion including commissioning, start up and handover to operations including de-commissioning of old pipelines and equipment.
  • Develops project-contracting packages in co-operation with Commercial teams to ensure that project requirements are met effectively.
  • Manages and monitors selection and Technical bid clarification of contractor's consultants vendors and ensure timely procurement of materials equipment required for implementing the project.
  • Directs the technical performance of contractor consultant designs to ensure compliance with appropriate engineering standards, codes of practice and specification.
  • Endorses Project Management Consultant (PMC) Team Technical recommendations and evaluates technical and contractual impact.
  • Ensures timely approval of project technical documents and endorse project main deliverables of Engineering Procurement Contract ( EPC)Contractor.
  • Monitors contractor's performance and progress and propose corrective actions.
  • Coordinates plant and equipment testing and commissioning activities and ensures support and participation of the company concerned divisions.
  • Reviews variations, change orders and contractual claims and recommend actions.
  • Assesses and evaluates performance of contractor's consultant's vendors upon completion of service and issue closeout reports and recommendations.
  • Review lessons learnt upon completion of service and communicate these to all concerned.
  • Controls and manages agreed changes to project scope in line with established procedures, access and manage the risks introduced by the change.
  • Manages the commissioning, start up and handover phase and ensure all project requirements are completed satisfactorily.
  • Prepares periodic reports on project progress and other project-related aspects and present these to relevant authorities.
  • Controls the efficient and cost-effective use of financial, human and other resources. Takes accountability and responsibility for project performance and activities.
  • Manages/coordinates the interfaces with other projects, drilling, maintenance and operations.
  • Ensure the agreed organization charts are implemented with the qualified personnel. Deputize for the project Manager during his absence/leave.
  • Reviews and approves project schedules and HSE plans submitted by contractor's consultants, supervise their work and facilitate smooth progress of construction activities in coordination with site operations.
  • Manages the development and implementation of project HSE Philosophy document, HSE plans covering all phases of the project including requirement for Hazards, Risk Identification and Assessment Studies, and follow-ups Implementation.
  • Guides and directs subordinates to ensure they work to their best potential. Ensures that work is undertaken in accordance with company HSE Policies and that subordinates are both aware and comply with all relevant rules and regulation.
