Our Client, an oil and gas company is looking forward to recruit the above position.

Job Purpose:
Provides professional engineering support to operational offsites regarding wireline operation through studying/investigating, modifications/ problems and providing necessary professional advice and recommendations. Liaises with concerned operations and maintenance to ensure appropriate preparation for design of wireline equipments and tools to cater to all phases of well intervention. Specifies and selects appropriate wireline units equipment/ spares. Directs and controls contractor's on shore/ offshore activities involved in carrying out site wire-line operations to provice the required downhole information to Reservoir, Petroleum Engineering, integrity divisions for management of reservoir, well integrity and flow assurance in the wells.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Investigates well intervention requirements for reservoir monitioring, corrosion protection, well integrity assurance. Well flow assurance and for any other purposes throughout the well lifecycle.
  • Defines philosophies for wireline operation to cater to all phases of well lifecycle.
  • Reviews/ comments/ approves well completion design ensuring required facilities are incorporated in the completion design for wireline intervention.
  • Reviews/ comments/ approves new projects design/ construction packages prepared by other divisions to ensure necessary topside facilities are considered in the design for wireline units transportation, lifting and operation on the well towers in line with established wireline operation philosophy.
  • Specifies, selects and recommends wireline systems hardware requirements(surface units. Downhole tools etc. And coordinates with commercial division and ensures the availability of all the wire-line(sick-line) down-hole tolls and consumable items not provided by contractors and initiates/ originates related service order, contact, and purchase order request.
  • Provides technical advice to commercial divisions personnel on purchasing the wireline equipment and tools and spares specifications, suitability of quotations and alternative spares.
  • Prepares and manages contracts services and spare parts for wire-line tools and equipment, controls and monitors such services, participates in HSEMS auditing of wire-line contractors/ services/ operation.
  • Plans wireline activities in field in liaison with the Field Development, Petroleum Engineering, Drilling and Integrity Divisions and other side operation and maintenance departments with in NFOD ensuring minimum logistics requirement and maintaining production plans.
  • Develops, manages and maintains appropriates database for all wire-line equipment (e.g. safety valves and down- hole tools), that will profile the cyclic and life span of equipment and servicing with a traceable history, in coordination with field assistance contractor database and personal initiative on follow-ups. Surveys/ inspects wireline units and tools to assess condition and identify any degraded parts/units and recommends for upgrading/replacement as necessary. Evaluates and selects required equipment and ensures compliance with relevant specifications and codes of practice.
  • Provides necessary support relating to engineering/ equipment to ensure smooth operation through direct contacts with vendors/manufacturers representatives.
  • Proactive participant in all WVA meetings in coordination with PED(completion Practices), well and drilling engineers.
  • Assists the contractor and field supervisors, make appropriate choice to tools for the well condition. Assists the filed(when required) in customizing, designing and fabricating to tools for specific solutions to specific problems. Ensures materials for all subsurface equipments are in accordance with the client and industry standards.
  • Coordinates with wireline contractors for crew, equipment/wireline Unit preparedness (maintenance/upkeep/ certification) in their workshops, prior to mobilization to the field location, with logistics Division for mobilization to site and coordinates with site wire-line supervisors to ensure the sufficient correct equipment/tool on site availability for ongoing/planned operations.
  • Coordinates with field, petroleum engineering and drilling divisions to identify specifications quantify and minimum stock of all slick line and down-hole tools for new wells or wells to be worked over.
  • Checks and ensures contractors personnel are fully aware of and adhere to safety rules, regulations, and standards and procedures prior to deployment in field. Ensures validity of contractors' equipment certification prior and during wire-line(slick-line) activities.
  • Follows up on reported subsurface equipment failures, investigate and reports findings/recommendations.
  • Witnesses in the making of completion sub-assemblies at various yards as advised by DD tools services when appropriate. Ensures the Wireline aspects of the assembling are adhered to strictest code of the discipline.
  • Ensures compliances with the Company's HSEMS, safety rules and regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor such as carrying out appraisal interviews of new recruits for supervisor's job in operational sites, training engineers under development, etc.

Communication & Organisational Relationships:
  • Daily contacts with offshore operation, maintenance services, production Engineering and Maintenance Planning Engineers to coordinate day-to-day wireline operation in the field.
  • Daily contact with Contractor's personnel up to Engineer's level to discuss Site requirements/ preparation.
  • Regular visit(s) to Contractor's base/workshops for inspection of wire-line (sick-line) equipment, witnessing of tools' redressing & / or hydro- testing, specialized test, etc.
  • Frequent contacts with Field Development, Petroleum Engineering, and Drilling and Integrity Division's personnel up to Sr. Engineer level for discussing and planning short term/ long term wire line intervention requirement in the field.
  • Frequent contacts with commercial divisions/ purchasing / material Departments up to Senior Officer's level regarding suitability and availability of wireline equipment/ tools/spares.
  • Occasional contacts with suppliers up to slightly higher level related to the selection of wire line equipment and spares and to solve technical problems.
  • Works according to Company established procedures and professional engineering standards. Exercises latitude when working on modifications/solving problems, reviewing packages and advising on specifications of equipment.

Minimum Requirements knowledge skills & Experience .
  • Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5-6 years experience in Wire-line(slick-line)/logging activities of which at
Least 3 years of offshore supervisor capacity with knowledge of PC operation.
  • Good Knowledge of English
