Our reputed client, a Government Oil and Gas Company is looking forward to recruit for the position of "Engineer Planning” in Abu Dhabi -UAE.

Reporting: Engineering and Projects Team Leader
Location: Abu Dhabi Office

Job Purpose:
  • Performs Planning and planning control for projects undertaken by EP unit and Company's business units for effective and high-quality process and to ensure proper coordination with all concerned units/ departments assuring proper project planning on time.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Analysis and evaluation of projects bids with respect to Execution Strategy, Planning Scheduling, progress monitoring and control, analyzing time implications due to any possible changes in the scope during project implementation.
  • Perform risk analysis of project plans to identify risk issues and recommend appropriate mitigation actions. Identification and analysis of complications and problems and recommend suitable remedies.
  • Analysis and evaluation of major project bids with respect to Execution Strategy, Planning, Scheduling, Progress monitoring and control, analyzing time implications due to any possible changes in the scope during project implementation.
  • Identify long lead items and ensure timely Engineering and preparation of material and purchase requisitions.
  • Define the Work Break Down Structure (WBS) according to the scope of work. The activities to be listed for various detail levels up to the level-3, further details to be done by contractor/ consultants to be reviewed.
  • Coordination with stakeholders in other sections (EPE/EPP/CM etc) to develop the schedule.
  • Development of Baseline schedules for projects managed by EP Unit for business units.
  • Preparation OF Planning/ reporting (Appendix d) & invoicing (Appendix E) of the ITT document.
  • Provide support during Technical Evaluation of Bids. Review and verify overall plans, activities, duration and resource requirement submitted by Consultants/ Contractors.
  • After contract award, review and approve Planning and reporting procedure and planning package, submitted by consultants/ contractors.
  • Review the weekly progress report, attend the weekly projects progress meeting with the contractors and visit the work site to verify the actual progress of on-going projects.
  • Checking/ reconciliation of the invoice submitted by contractor against defind payment terms.
  • Preparation of the weekly and monthly report in coordination with other sections/ departments.
  • Preparation of operating plans and 5-year business plan.
  • Preparation of the project's Decision support package (DSP) for the relevant stages of VAP process.
  • Preparation of the handouts and presentations required for the various meetings with shareholders such as PFISC and TCM.

Minimum Requirements:
  • B.SC in Engineering Discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of project planning and control experience, project management in the Oil/ Gas or similar industry.
  • Knowledge of business planning and resource allocation
  • Very good command of English language.
  • Good skills in communication, negotiation and team work.
  • IT Knowledge using Microsoft Office Software.
  • Knowledge of planning software package Primavera, MS PROJECT, Pertmaster etc.
  • Preference given to membership in international project management societies such as PMI, AACEI etc.
