Our reputed client, a Government Entity is looking forward to recruit for the position of "Accountant Treasury” in Abu Dhabi; UAE.

Location: Abu Dhabi
Contract: Short Term - 6 Months
Reporting: Treasury Supervisor
Division: CFO

Job Objective:
The job holder is responsible to analyze and prepare bank payments and receipts and to perform other treasury related activities.

The job holder will also work to ensure they support Company's customer driven approach by working as required in a flexible, positive, collaborative and transparent manner to deliver any task necessary to meet customer expectations and deliver any task requested by their line manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Routine Operations:

  • Ensure appropriate transfer of funds between accounts in order to sustain sufficient funds for future payments.
  • Prepare, review & post PV vouchers including petty cash vouchers on timely basis and ensure the completeness on monthly basis.
  • Record interest receipts/payment and bank charges on daily/monthly basis. To ensure that interest accruals are correctly recorded, liaise with GL accountant on monthly basis.
  • Assist the Treasury Supervisor to reconcile variances that occur in the application of cash.
  • Ensure all cheques and receipts are correctly and appropriately banked after liaising with other departments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payment transactions.
  • Ensure cashbook is complete and updated on a daily basis.
  • Update Company's fund position on daily basis and report fund availability to the management.

Monitoring and Control:

  • Implement and adhere to the policies and procedures of cash application and other internal controls.
  • Monitor fund disbursements and ensure that payments are made in accordance with contractual agreement, established procedures and in timely manner.
  • Compile information for internal and external auditors, as required.
  • Verify that adequate budgeted funds are available for payments.
  • Review and investigate outstanding cash items.
  • Review detailed monthly expenditures reports, prepare adjusting entries as required and audit reports for coding errors and duplicate payments.
  • Handle finance and procurement petty cash and ensure all petty cash expenses comply with SOPP.

Reporting:

  • Assist the Treasury Supervisor/Manager in providing the ad-hoc reports as requested by the Management.
  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets by providing the Financial Analyst the forecast interests and others related information.
  • Prepare supplier/contractor work and payments status update on regular basis for various departments.
  • Report variances in application of funds against cash flow forecast on monthly basis.
  • Ensure currency changes gain/loss is calculated and posted in the ledger on monthly basis.

Self-Development

  • Strive to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role.
  • Identify the training and development requirements for self and agree on them with the Treasury Supervisor to ensure that they required trainings are arranged and attended.
  • Set the performance goals in the beginning of the year after discussion with the Treasury Supervisor and ensure that the goals are achieved during the course of the year.
  • Good Excel Knowledge.


Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Professional Certification like ACCA /ACA /CPA is desired
  • 2 – 3 years in accounting role
  • Working knowledge about IFRS and GAAP
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals
  • Ability to write reports
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form Familiarity with Treasury accounting system and good EXCEL skills
