Our reputed client a Government Oil and Gas Company is looking forward to recruit for the position of "Mechanical Technician” in Abu Dhabi- Das Island; UAE.

Rotation Cycle : 42 Days On and 21 Day Off
Location: Das Island (Offshore)

Purpose of Job:
Carry out the activities of Mechanical Maintenance and Repairs of Plants, Equipment and Installation in assigned area of responsibility i.e. Pipe & Vessels such as pipe line fabrications, valves, tanks, oil seperators, vessels,knock out drums, air receivers, heat exchangers, stripper columns,pig receiver, relief valves, steam boilers, water production units, air dryers and all other static equipments which related to Oil and Gas Field. Leads team of lower grade fitters and Helpers in Maint/Major overhaul of the above mentioned equipment.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Ensures adherence of subordinates and contracted workforce with the company Health, Safety and Envirnomental Management System. Ensures subordinates are in full compliance of all operating and maintenance procedures while carrying out their maintenance activities.
  2. Ensures that all work carried out by their subordinates adheres to the Company and Best Industry Practices. Ensures adherence to Company Safety Regulations and UAE/Local Prevailing Laws and Regulations
  3. Ensures Risk Assessment recommendations are adhered to. Ensures all safety equipment under his custody is in proper operating condition and colour coded equipment is up to date.
  4. Attends regular safety meetings and encourage HSEMS programme with subordinates. Obtains Safety Equipment for personnel.
  5. Carries out mechanical maintenance and repair activities in various operating areas; includes receiving work orders/instructions from and discussing /consulting with Senior Mechanical Technician to set priorities, allocating work to subordinates, arranging for obtaining work permits and materials/Spare as requested and checking/inspecting completed work.
  6. Attends to emergency jobs in Process Plants, carry out spading/de-spading of live lines, checks site safety requirements ie scaffolding, B.A Equipment and personally carries out or guides assigned Technicians/ contractors personnel.
  7. Receives planned maintenance work from Senior Mechanical Technician and executes accurately as per HSE and work procedures. Controls spares and materials assigned for his job. Ensures that tools are well maintained and kept in safe/reliable condition.
  8. Provides theoretical and practical instrument training for less experienced personnel, including technicians and fitters. Participates in the Competency Assurance Programmes
  9. Works in line with HSE policy and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations by subordinates
