•Strongly serving and supporting the Scrum Teams in their focus on meeting product delivery commitments and providing business value to customers.
•Building a trusting and safe environment where issues can be raised without fear of blame or retribution with an emphasis on growth and problem solving.
•Facilitating the execution of Sprint commitments by the team without assigning or dictating the tasks.
•Facilitating discussions, decision making, and conflict resolution.
•Assisting with internal and external communication, providing transparency, and radiating information on Scrum team progress and maturity
•Removing impediments or guiding the team to resolve impediments independently so that the team can meet their commitments and continuously improve.
•Guiding and Coaching Scrum Teams on self-organizing to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile and Scrum frameworks and stay true to core framework values.
•Guiding and supporting the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example. This person should personify Scrum and Agile values.
•Assessing the maturity of the Scrum Teams and organization, and coaching them on Agile/Scrum practices and values to help them achieve higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is comfortable and sustainable.
•First level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM ).
•Experience in Software Development for 5 years while playing the Scrum Master role for at least 3 years for a software development team
•Experience working with Distributed Scrum teams.
•Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc).
•Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
•Knowledge of numerous well documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (Example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc).
•Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
•Second level Scrum Master certification (PSM II, CSP).
•Experience in Software Development for at least 10 years while playing the Scrum Master role for at least 4 years for a software development team.
•Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
•Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space: XP, Kanban, Lean Manufacturing, FDD, etc.
