Cyber Security Analyst

Sungard Availability Services is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Cyber Security Analyst to join the IT Cyber Security Team. This position will be responsible for security event analysis, digital forensics and incident response, security engineering, and enterprise security projects.

Opportunity:
This position will be responsible for end-to-end security requirements as part of a dedicated team supporting IT. You will be required to interface with other internal security teams and ensure that internal teams are making the right security decisions and following documented policies and procedures.
The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for evaluating security events and responding in according to policies and procedures. Core Responsibilities:
  • Provide expertise on information security topics and understanding of Information Security delivery methodologies
  • Deliver current knowledge on security trends and events to assist with decision making and response
  • Build relationships with the business stakeholders for the projects you are working
  • Help coach internal IT on information security disciplines
  • Offer customers insight on key regulations and standards, such as NIST 800-53, CSC, etc.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure policies and procedures are followed
  • Conduct all-source analysis, digital forensics, and targeting to identify, monitor, assess, and counter the threat posed by cyber actors.
  • Perform system/network defense incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identifying the specific vulnerability; and making recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
  • High level of commitment, energy and creativity with the ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment with a STRONG desire to learn.
  • Strong analytical skills, including problem solving and instinctive thinking.
  • Experience reviewing raw packet files, and data correlation of firewall, intrusion prevention, and system/host based logs.
  • Operational knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Powershell)
  • Operational knowledge of web/email applications and their potential vulnerabilities
  • Must be comfortable working with and troubleshooting in a heterogeneous operating environment.
  • Team player required. Must be able to interact with peers, management, and senior engineers in a constantly evolving environment to ensure a positive team experience and atmosphere in the workplace.
Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of network security analysis experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cyber/Security Engineer/Analyst
  • Expertise with Unix, Linux & Windows operating systems is required
  • 1 or more industry recognized security certifications (ISC2, SANS, ISACA, etc.) BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or currently enrolled in a Degree Program expecting to graduate within 12 months or equivalent work experience
  • Occasional travel to other Sungard AS offices and client locations
