Seeking an experienced Operating Room Clinical Coordinator for a highly regarded boutique hospital with a loving-kindness approach in beautiful coastal Maine. Position will be a hybrid of Clinical and Administrative Leadership (approx. 70/30 %), including hiring, evaluations and motivating team members.

Job Description:
  • Operating Room Clinical Coordinator is responsible for supporting, directing and collaborating activities within their organizational purview to provide the highest quality Loving Kindness care to patients and their families.
  • Operating Room Clinical Coordinator is a professional Registered Nurse, responsible for ongoing supervision of a clinical area, reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
  • Duties performed involve weighing and evaluating factors requiring judgment, analytical ability and problem solving.
  • The Clinical Coordinator RN is the first line support for patients, staff, physicians and other related providers on service-specific issues.
  • The Clinical Coordinator RN collaborates on clinical and non-clinical issues.
  • Provides leadership to support high quality loving care of patients and families
  • Strives to instill the same values in staff and holds them accountable to the standards set for service excellence.
  • Communicates effectively with physicians, members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, patients and families to assess, develop and carry out the comprehensive plan of care.
  • Acts as a patient/family advocate.
  • Involves staff in projects that encourage and provide opportunities for professional development.
  • Promotes cohesive work teams and constructive conflict resolution, actively supporting intra- and inter-disciplinary teamwork across the organization.
  • Coordinator provides direct patient service when necessary (roughly 16 hours/week)
  • Assures the personnel, workplace, and technology resources necessary for the provision of safe, high quality patient and family care
  • Assists with interviews, the hiring process and setting performance expectations.
  • Assists in setting the standards for and oversees daily department operations.
  • Maintains personnel productivity at acceptable levels for the unit-based standards.
  • Collaborates with the Nursing Supervisor and other Nursing Directors to evaluate work schedules as needed to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.
  • Supports and contributes to the orientation and education programs for assigned personnel.
  • Educates the patient care team about time and attendance.
  • Actively participates in process improvement, QI, safety and education committees.
  • Recognizes his/her reaction to change and remains open to new ideas and approaches.
  • Assists others in understanding the importance and process of change.
  • Supports an environment that facilitates the team to hold self and others accountable.
Compensation:
  • $75,000-$115,000/year based on experience

Qualifications:
  • Maine Nursing License (current or in process)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of Operating Room experience
  • 2+ years of RN Leadership experience
  • Demonstrate leadership skill.
