Our client, the world's leading search engine and technology company, is seeking a UX Research Associate. This is a 12 month + contract position located in Mountain View, CA, and a hybrid remote opportunity.

Summary:
  • As a Research Associate, you'll have the opportunity to support research activities in developing innovative and user-friendly products.
  • We are looking for individuals who enjoy usability evaluation research and are excited to focus their work on the client app.
  • The role requires in-depth knowledge of the usability methodology and experience conducting evaluation research in a fast-paced technology environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct qualitative research in the lab and remotely that primarily utilizes usability methodology in an iterative research and design setting.
  • Produce findings and recommendation reports from research for product teams.
  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other UX researchers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with other team members.
  • Work independently with support from more senior research team members.
  • Be diligent, detail-oriented and have the ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Conduct usability research studies on the client app with the product team and other user experience researchers.
  • This role is primarily usability evaluation with some qualitative interviewing and does not involve doing end to end projects.
  • This role involves working on a range of projects short-term.
  • Conduct qualitative research in the lab and remotely that primarily utilizes usability methodology in an iterative research and design setting.

  • Work with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other UX researchers to prioritize research opportunities in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

Requirements:
  • M.A./M.S./PhD. (completed) in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, HCI/Computer Science, Sociology, or other fields emphasizing human behavior.
  • 1-3 years of work experience in an applied research setting, preferably at least one year of experience conducting usability research in a technology environment on mobile app software.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
  • Can work independently, prioritizing time between multiple projects and be flexible by adapting to changing schedules and different projects.
  • Experience converting research findings into actionable insights for product design.
  • Basic working knowledge of statistics (SPSS, R, or other statistical packages).
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
Desired:
  • Excellent observational, interpersonal, oral and written communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups.
  • Experience with Google Suite (e.g., slides, sheets, docs).

Pay Rate Range: $56.56/hr - 66.22 hourly
