JOB SUMMARY : R esponsible for processing purchase and refinance mortgage loans for Nationwide Bank.


  • Disclose loans and order appraisal, title and verification from third party vendors (verification of employment, verification of mortgage, verification of income, etc.) to meet regulatory guidelines and meet service levels
  • Act as customer advocate and provide support and guidance throughout the loan process for our borrowers
  • Review all documentation for accuracy and adherence to ensure the criteria set by Client and Nationwide are met prior to submitting the file for review by underwriting
  • Research and resolve conditions requested by underwriting upon secondary review
  • Partners with Closing department to resolve closing conditions (subordination agreements, updated credit explanations etc)
  • Interact with numerous departments such as Sales, Underwriting and Closing to meet the required service level agreements and customer satisfaction
  • Prioritize competing demands such as addressing urgent files and customer issues while managing a pipeline of 35-40 loans
  • Acts as a liaison between our borrowers and our Underwriting department
  • Partners with internal and external resources to research and resolve documentation issues
  • Address credit related issues and areas of potential risk to ensure that all loans meet product standards (Debt to Income (DTI), Loan to Value (LTV), etc.)
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


    Education: Associate Degree preferred

    Experience: 2 years work experience. Experience in Federal Consumer Lending regulations (TILA, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, and Regulation Z) and knowledge and understanding of loan documents (Closing Disclosure, Mortgage Note, 1003, Purchase Contract) preferred

    Knowledge: Previous mortgage industry knowledge preferred (mortgage lending, processing, real estate, knowledge of Client guidelines, Jumbo loans and ARMS)

    Skills/Competencies: Ability to provide excellent customer service, handle multiple tasks and frequent interruptions, handle stressful situations professionally and respectfully, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Excellent organizational and pipeline management skills, computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and loan origination systems), solid analytical skills, dedication to accuracy, solid work ethic.
