Mortgage Loan Originator (Town and Country Financial)

We are looking for a Mortgage Loan Originator to join our team!! Our mortgage loan originator is responsible for the development and management of customer relationships to ensure the customer's needs for 1-4 family unit residences, investment property, construction, lot and bridge loans are met. In this capacity, the mortgage loan originator is accountable for the growth and profitability of relationships in a manner consistent with the best interest of TCBMSI. The mortgage originators representation of TCBSMI is carried out by embracing and promoting the brand promise of creating connections with internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
  • Develops relationships with clients to increase loan business for the company. Establishes and maintains connections with developers, builders, and realtors to encourage the use of TCBMSI products and services. Make regular sales calls to potential and existing customer to retain current or develop new business.
  • Engages applicants to discuss mortgage requirements, advises applicants of options available, ascertains applicant's capacity to repay and assesses the degree of risk involved.
  • Thoroughly and accurately processes loan applications.
  • Engages borrower throughout lending process and communicates loan decisions to borrowers.
  • Reviews loan documentation prior to closing to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulation.
  • Closes mortgage loans.
  • Provides accurate information and connects prospects with appropriate bank personnel to meet sales goals and links them with bank products and services.
  • Ensures exceptional customer experience by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with the provisions within the S.A.F.E. Act, all Federal and State compliance policies and adhering to HMDA.
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of two years general lending experience.
  • Strong sales orientation.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-based, fast-paced work environment.
  • High degree of accuracy and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and on deadline.
  • Registration on the National Mortgage Loan Registry (or Updated NMLS Employment Record) required within 120 days of employment.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.

Training and Development specific to role which may include but is not limited to:
  • Recommended and required compliance training
  • New Employee onboarding and orientation
  • On the job training specific to role
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally and have sound reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to physically perform all range functions
  • Must be able to carry/lift moderate (25-50lbs) loads.
  • Must be able to make client/prospect visits offsite to inspect construction site for approval of draw.
