Mortgage Processor (Illinois State Credit Union)

Location: Bloomington, Illinois
This position will have responsibility for conducting preliminary & final review of the mortgage package, processing loan transactions, reviewing loan documentation and maintaining loan files, monthly reports and also understanding and promoting Credit Union services to members. Mortgage experience is preferred.
1) Transaction Processing
a) Process loans from Mortgage Officer includes putting loans on the system, setting up loan files and processing other loan documentation (assignments, notes, PMI transfers)
b) Reports – assist mortgage officer in analyzing and running daily FHLB reports and pipeline maintenance, PMI, delinquency, HMDA
c) Conduct a pre-closing audit for all mortgage and subordinate financing loans
d) Create paperwork for subordinate financing
2) Mortgage Folder Processing
a) Organize file according to mortgage guidelines
b) Knowledge of forms – recognize mortgage forms and the use of the form
c) Key points to check documentation of each form – know what the member should sig n, cross check underwriter for accuracy
d) Organization of all documents in mortgage loan folder: Closing package, internal documentation, initial disclosures
e) Final review of mortgage folders for recorded mortgages and title policies
3) Mortgage Lending Flow
a) Constructively have an active role in the mortgage lending process, maintain integrity of process
b) Maintain loan folders and purge as necessary
c) Assist in maintaining loan folders to be certain all required documents are received from the Mortgage officer and Title Company at closing
4) Escrow Processing
a) Monthly escrow check processing & assist with escrow analysis
b) Review of non-escrow mortgage loans
c) Home Owners insurance tracking oversight
5) Mortgage Member Service
a) Post-closing call to member, create welcome letter, automatic payment forms
b) Answer member questions both in person and over the phone in a professional and courteous manner
c) Assist members in resolving problems related to their Credit Union accounts
d) Know Credit Union products, services and fees and be able to explain/describe them to the membership
6) Other
a) Adhere to department and Credit Union policies and procedures
b) Prioritize work when performing multiple tasks in order to meet time sensitive deadlines
c) Assist other Team Members when needed
d) Complete special projects as needed
e) Must be a self-motivator, detail oriented and accuracy is a must
