TITLE EXAMINER -WITH PROCESSOR / CLOSER EXPERIENCE (GL Homes)

Position Summary:
Well established Title Company responsible for handling closings for one of the State's largest homebuilders has an opportunity for an energetic, detail-oriented title professional to join our team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Examining title searches, sales contracts and other documents relating to the issuance of title insurance policies.
  • Assist with the accurate preparation of title commitments and other related closing documents.
  • Review title curative and other documents for proper form, accuracy and compliance.
  • Work with title underwriters to address requirements relating to title issues and concerns.
  • Maintain and update Master Title Insurance Commitments for numerous homebuilder/client communities.
  • Provide instruction and assistance to co-workers as required in order to clear title requirements.
  • Effectively communicate title information and requirements with company's clients, property owners, buyers, real estate agents, surveyors and other third parties.
  • Reviews legal descriptions, surveys, instruments of conveyance and related documents for proper form, accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness.
  • Effectively respond to inquiries by third parties as to title exceptions reflected on title commitments.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
Experience and Skills:
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in a related field a plus.
  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience reviewing and examining residential real estate titles.
  • Experience working with new home-builder closings preferred but not required.
Skills and Abilities /Requirements:
  • Knowledge of pre-closing and closing department procedures, with the ability to assist in the preparation of title commitments, closing statements, closing disclosures and other required closing documents.
  • Must have a good understanding of risks and liabilities of title with an ability to identify title issues.
  • Familiar with title underwriter requirements, with emphasis on corporate entity, LLC and Trust requirements.
  • Demonstrated verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude and work well with others.
