Escrow Officer (Carlisle Title)

Location: Plano, Texas
Purpose
Process, review, and audit the closing of real estate transactions and assist in business development.
Tasks
  • Process, Review, and Audit Closing
  • Receive and review purchase agreements
  • Advises clients and customers on title policy options and the benefits as necessary
  • Provide status updates to clients throughout the transaction in order to provide an excellent and efficient client experience
  • Complete real estate escrow transactions by determining requirements; clearing clouds on title, assembling, preparing, and reviewing closing documents, and balancing and disbursing files
  • Manage entire real estate closing process, including compliance with real estate contracts, lender instructions, title company, and state requirements
  • Complete the closing transaction by assembling documents reviewing papers with parties, explaining provisions and procedures, answering any questions, obtaining signatures, checking documents for completeness and accuracy, insuring all documents are recordable and able to be filed with the proper County Clerk
  • Periodically the Escrow Officer will be required to travel outside of the office to complete signing and closing transactions
  • Other Duties
  • Assist in sales activities such as marketing new business and promoting better service to clients and their customers, effectively market his/her own title and escrow services to realtors, builders, and mortgage companies in a manner that builds or maintains a following of clients who direct new business to the branch and complies with the company's marketing guidelines
  • Acts as an effective team member by helping develop other staff members, providing assistance as needed and encouraging others to perform at peak levels
Knowledge
  • Must be proficient with RamQuest or similar systems software and MS Office
  • Bilingual is a plus
  • Must have knowledge of abstracting and minor examination
  • Sound proficiency and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual

Education and Experience
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. College degree is preferred
  • Escrow License required for regulatory compliance with transaction functions
  • Notary Public is required
  • Must have 2-3 years' experience in the title & escrow insurance industry with at least 2 years' experience as an escrow assistant/processor
