Mortgage Loan Processor (Frederick County Bank)

Location: Frederick, Maryland
FCB's Mortgage Loan Processor processes retail and residential loan applications associated with the secondary market, assembles required documentation, responds to client, internal, and external inquiries about products or procedures, and performs various administrative and marketing duties. In addition, this position cross-sells other products and services offered by Frederick County Bank.

Essential Functions & Duties Include:
  1. Performing administrative support activities related to obtaining loans on the secondary market. This includes but is not limited to tracking and following up with new referrals, interviewing prospective borrowers, processing retail and residential loan applications, reviewing statements for accuracy and completeness, assembling documents, ordering appraisals and maintaining the appraiser rotation list, communicating status to clients and related parties, preparing declination letters, preparing letters and memos, entering HMDA information in Laser Pro, and generating monthly reports.
  2. Supporting Marketing initiatives. This includes but is not limited to mailing introductory and thank-you letters, scheduling and coordinating client appreciation events, and helping promote product campaigns.
  3. Responding to inquiries by internal and external clients, financial institutions, attorneys and title companies regarding new or existing retail and residential loans, including Portfolio mortgages.
  4. Assisting in meeting loan growth goals established for the department. This includes but is not limited to updating 360 View with referral information, cross-selling products/services, and calling on clients or prospects.
  5. Training FCB Staff as needed on systems, products and procedures. This includes but is not limited to providing Bank Center staff with product support knowledge and offering guidance in their decision and documentation process
  6. Developing a strong working knowledge of all consumer regulations
  7. Completing other duties as assigned.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Three to five years of demonstrated experience processing and underwriting loans on the secondary market. This includes but is not limited to conventional and government loans (FHA/VA). Experience with Annie Mac and Encompass a plus.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of retail and residential loans and understanding of regulations affecting retail and residential loans
  3. Knowledge of banking procedures and core software applications
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  5. Command knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of the internet
  6. Able to prioritize work/projects and meet deadlines
  7. Strong client relationship management and servicing skills. Able to develop strong working relationships and interact in a professional manner with existing and prospective clients as well as colleagues at all levels across the organization
  8. Self-directed, motivated, results oriented, and detail oriented
  9. Strong analytic, research, and problem solving skills
  10. Able to interpret regulations, policies, procedures, reports, and/or documents
  11. Able to comply with the spirit and intent of all Federal and State regulatory requirements
  12. Able to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with Bank policy, practice, and/or culture
  13. Able to represent the Bank in community volunteer activities
  14. Degree in finance, business, economics, or related field
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  1. Able to lift and carry 25lbs
  2. Able to be present in the office during regular business hours unless otherwise authorized
  3. Ability and willingness to work during nonstandard business hours
  4. High level of interpersonal skills to manage sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  5. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to all Bank, client event, and training locations
