One Nevada Credit Union has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor. Candidates MUST have a minimum of 2 years of government and conventional loan processing experience in order to be considered:
POSITION STATEMENT
The Mortgage Loan Processor performs the detailed data gathering and documentation of first mortgage loan applications preparing the loans for submission to underwriting.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Assembly 40%
  1. Organizes and assembles documentation in compliance with FHA, VA, FHLMC and Client requirements;
  2. Expedites the return of all information and documents to complete file for submission;
  3. Reviews documentation exceptions with the Mortgage Underwriter and recommends alternative actions; and
  4. Communicates verbally or in writing with applicants, loan officers, and vendors to expedite file documentation.

    Loan Processing 30%
  5. Reviews entire loan file for check list verification of initial documents;
  6. Reviews all documentation to ensure it satisfies the stipulation of the Mortgage Underwriter/AUS requirement;
  7. Enters loan file data into computerized processing system;
  8. Orders all initial setup documents, appraisals, credit reports, and preliminary titles; and
  9. Prepares all written verifications and correspondence required for complete file documentation.

    Submission 30%
  10. Reviews all assembled data for exceptions and compliance with FHA, VA, FHLMC or Client guidelines;
  11. Ensures that all pertinent documentation is assembled in the file;
  12. Prepares underwriting review forms for submission to underwriting;
  13. Completes follow-up documentation on approved or rejected files; and
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Working knowledge of FHA, VA, Client and FHLMC underwriting guidelines;
  2. Skill in the operation of a personal computer to include Internet/Intranet, operating system, word processor, calendar, and scheduling software;
  3. Skill in the operation of standard mortgage processing software;
  4. Ability to keyboard accurately;
  5. Ability to coordinate a variety of duties simultaneously and prioritize multiple tasks;
  6. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
  7. Ability to lift 25 pounds;
  8. Ability to train other employees utilizing a training plan and current procedures;
  9. Ability to maintain regularly scheduled attendance;
  10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; and
  11. Must be able to relate appropriately to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instruction, and communicating with others; and (c) respond appropriately to constructive feedback from a supervisor.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    A high school diploma or GED equivalent and two years government and conventional loan processing experience preferred.
