Mortgage Loan Officer (Yadkin Bank)

Responsible for evaluating and recommending loan products to clients based on client-specific needs. Negotiates with clients on rates for loan products; utilizes industry knowledge, marketing, and sales strengths to develop prospects, generate leads, and convert application opportunities for loans; completes mortgage loan processing and closing; develops long-term relationships with clients and referral partners; recommends other Bank product and services; and cross-sell referrals to Bank associates.

Knowledge Requirements
  • Minimum Education/Certification : High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Required Knowledge : Understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting, and closing procedures. Knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines. Understanding of federal regulations governing real estate lending.
  • Preferred Knowledge : Knowledge of State and Federal regulations governing banking is needed. Knowledge of security procedures and product knowledge is necessary.
Experience Requirements
  • Required Experience : Minimum of 1 year residential mortgage lending experience.
Skill Requirements
  • Required Skills : Strong computer skills including a fundamental understanding of MS applications and database management. Must have proven customer relations skills through prior experience. Excellent communication skills are needed. Time management skills and the ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be proficient in the use of basic office equipment such calculator with emphasis on PC skills. Microsoft Word and Excel skills are needed.
Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements

Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must be able to bend and may be required to lift up to 10 pounds in coin or office supplies. There are generally no hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions present in the location of this position.

Mental Demands

Learning, thinking, concentration, the ability to interact with others, the ability to exercise self-control, and the ability to work under stressful conditions, particularly in customer and employee relations' situations are necessary. Must have a proven detail orientation. Must have the ability to make decisions and exercise discretion when necessary.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties
  • Initial interview with borrower(s).
  • Obtains completed loan applications and signed and dated disclosures.
  • Obtains legible offers to purchase signed and initialed by borrowers and sellers.
  • Obtains loan documentation including income verification and asset information to process and close loans.
  • Follows up with borrower(s) with approvals, once they have been processed.
  • Sets closing date with attorney.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Adheres to the Bank's Code Business Conduct and Ethics and other operating policies and procedures.
  • Treats all information attained during the course of performing job duties as confidential.
  • Completes compliance training and adhere to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, and all other compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs other duties as required.
