Wells Fargo Multifamily Capital – largest Client Agency Lender with more than $8B in loan volume and 5 largest Freddie Mac Lender with an estimated $3B in loan volume. WFMC is an industry leader working with some of the largest and most sophisticated borrowers in the income producing multifamily industry.
This role will be responsible for complete credit analysis and investigation of existing and prospective clients and other relevant due diligence necessary to underwrite an income producing multifamily mortgage under the direction of a more senior staff. Functions include: conducting complex credit investigations and analyzing diverse credit information for multifamily loans; analyzing/formalizing documentation used to make risk decisions on multifamily loan transactions and/or credit history of customers; assisting or fully preparing borrower credit reports; evaluating market research/analysis and other industry studies related to individual transactions and completing a review and analysis of a property's historical financial statements. This role would also involve completing site inspections, reviewing 3rd party vendor reports, analyzing management expertise and other such due diligence as required. This role involves working closely with and collaborating directly with Relationship Managers, Analysts, Borrowers, Counsel, Client and Freddie Mae representatives and credit risk approval authority.

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of commercial underwriting experience
