Provide information on credit union products and services to members in accordance with credit union policies and procedures and State and Federal rules and regulations. Responsible for interviewing applicants for real estate loans and processing applications. Gather background information and analyze loan applicants' credit history.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop ongoing mortgage loan business through member seminars and calls to realtors, contractors, and other institutions. Establishes detailed marketing/business plan including names of potential and existing loan customers, realtors, builders, developers, etc, and frequency of contact
• Answers member calls and walks in request to discuss various loan products and qualification information.
• Makes sales calls on potential or existing borrowers as established in marketing plan to develop new business or retain existing business.
• Establishes and implements such other marketing strategies as may be required, including, but not limited to First Time Buyer seminars, First Sale by Owner contacts, letters to past customers, financing seminars
• Networks through professional, business and community organizations and activities to promote and market loan products
• Participates in Credit Union sponsored Community Events to promote Mortgage Lending

Departments products and growth

• Participate in establishment and monitoring of control procedures for first-mortgage loan portfolio.
• Interview loan applicants and assist members with the loan application process. Handle mortgage loans of highest complexity, value, and risk.
• Evaluates loan requests, analyze financial data, and determines qualification of collateral and customer credit history
• Structures loan to comply with acceptable lending practices and Federal regulations
• Pull credit reports for all accounts, verify debts, and estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed and add them to debts on application.
• Prepares files for underwriting, loan committee, private mortgage insurance company and investor including preparation of loan approval sheet. Reads surveys, title paperwork, and appraisals. Ensures necessary steps to correct encroachments and violations
• Ensure that each real-estate loan is processed accurately, from origination to closing.
• Maintains contact with loan customer, communicating progress of loan and obtaining any required documentation

Education: High school diploma or GED, Bachelors degree preferred
Experience:
¿ Two years of mortgage lending experience with proven mortgage production
¿ Extensive mortgage experience in developing external business via referral partners in the market including but not limited to realtors, builders, and financial planners
¿ Knowledgeable on agency and investor regulations and guidelines
¿ Knowledgeable in local and national real estate market trends

Physical Requirements:
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Ability to demonstrate and apply manual dexterity to operate office equipment and handling of cash.
Ability to view computer monitor or laptop screen for extended periods of time.
Ability to work with confidential information, materials, and files appropriately, professionally, &
discretely.

Office Environment
Ability to adapt easily to changing work schedules.
Travel to branches may be required.
