Location: Los Angeles, California
Reporting to the CEO, the CFO is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with Client, SEC, and GAAP standards, as well as, maintaining appropriate internal controls. The selected individual will be an integral part of the executive management team and a member of the Management Committee.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide leadership, management, and mentorship to individuals within departments that fall under the areas of responsibility
  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization with regard to long and short-term operational goals, budget, and forecasts
  • Oversee activities of the accounting, payroll, AP and regulatory teams
  • Act as a firm's FINOP and ensure timely filing for all financial reports, FOCUS, and other regulatory reports and compliance with Client, SEC, and other regulatory bodies
  • Analyze new accounting pronouncements for impact on company operations
  • Effectively plan and establish sound financial and operational controls
  • Providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends
  • Facilitate identification, acquisition, and implementation of systems and software to increase work efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Collaborate with senior management team through involvement with potential corporate acquisitions
  • Provide strategic input on issues affecting the organization, business continuity, and recovery
  • Partner with senior leaders to provide financial support, evaluate strategies, and assist with financial goals implementation
Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant broker-dealer experience
  • Client Series 27and CPA licenses are required
  • Superior knowledge of GAAP, Client, and SEC rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated understanding of broker-dealer operations
  • Experience with Great Plains is preferred
  • Proven leadership and management experience
  • Must be an effective communicator
  • Some travel may be required
