Loan Processor/Title Clerk (MOBILITY Credit Union)

Ensures internal customers are promptly and professionally served. Responsible for assisting with vehicle and real estate lien status inquiries/placements/releases, and post-funding documentation quality assurance. Responsible for receiving, reviewing, and submitting applications for consumer loans via the web and indirect lending channels. Examines state title documentation required for timely perfecting of titles on consumer loans, ensures timely lien releases, and collects associated filing fees through the internal customers. Updates vehicle title status via a third party title processing system.
Responsible for managing delinquent account information and works closely with collection manager on delinquency matters and updates delinquent account files as requested.

  • (E) 25% Maintains quality assurance and integrity of optical loan closing and maintenance document files, using monthly reports designed to track and control loan documentation.
  • (E) 20% Obtains the necessary documentation to process lien perfections in a timely manner. Inform manager of title application processing delays. Informs individual branch staff and management of title processing deficiencies or needs.
  • (E) 20% Processes lien releases and pays drafts. Works closely with Lending Support staff to complete daily activities.
  • (E) 20% Reviews all loan documents for completeness and accuracy. Reviews the terms, conditions and stipulations post funding as a means of quality control. Seeks authority from the VP Member Solutions to make corrections in loan terms, credit insurance elections, due date change, and other loan maintenance as required.
  • (E) 5% Opens and sorts incoming department mail. Prepares outgoing mail, including metering, special deliveries, certified, and registered mail.
  • (E) 5% Processes vehicle and real estate lien releases on paid off loans as directed by Lending Support.
  • (N) 5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.
  1. To be knowledgeable of products and services offered, documentation requirements, and, if necessary, refer inquiries to the appropriate employee.
  2. To ensure by reviewing recorded documents, clear title is appropriate prior to issue 100% of the time.
  3. To correctly analyzes restrictions and prepare title commitment outlining restrictions and actions required to clear title with zero errors.
  4. To ensure accurate and efficient preparation of state title documentation on consumer loans.
  5. To provide informed, professional and accurate service and support to all associates.
  • A high school education or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of Credit Union operations.
  • Up to six months of similar or related experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
  • Good organizational, problem-solving, and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to operate related computer applications, and other business equipment including calculators, typewriter, printer, scanner, and telephone
  • Good typing skills

  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to deal with a variety of variables under only limited standardization. Able to interpret various instructions.
  • MATHEMATICS ABILITY: Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and to draw and interpret graphs.
  • LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to use passive vocabulary of 5,000-6,000 words; read at a slow rate; and define unfamiliar words in dictionaries for meaning, spelling, and pronunciation. Ability to write complex sentences, using proper punctuation, and using adjectives and adverbs. Ability to communicate in complex sentences, using normal word order with present and past tenses and good vocabulary.
