Loan Originator Assistant (Axia Financial)

BASIC FUNCTION

Support assigned Loan Originator(s) by preparing loan files for processing; working with the operations staff to facilitate the processing and closing of mortgage loans; assisting in marketing efforts to build client base and increase business; and staying current on mortgage laws, rules and regulations.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Branch Manager and assigned Loan Originator(s)
Direct Supervisory Report(s): None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  1. Assist Loan Originator(s) in preparing loan files for processing after an application for purchase and refinance transactions has been taken.
  2. Pull the borrower(s) credit report(s), copy borrower documentation; put file in proper stacking order and input the information into approved LOS.
  3. Work with the processor and other operations staff to facilitate the quick and smooth closing of the transaction.
  4. Communicate with realtor and borrower on any additional needs and status updates.
  5. Track and follow up on all conditions and/or missing documentation to ensure the file is complete and accurate.
  6. Assist in marketing efforts to increase business, client and referral base.
  7. Add new and prospective clients and referral partners to marketing database.
  8. Assist Loan Originator(s) with administrative tasks.
  9. Attend training as required by Axia from time to time.
  10. Keep current on FHA/VA/USDA/Conventional changes and guidelines as communicated by underwriting or operations or external sources.
  11. Ensure that an environment of teamwork is maintained at all times.
  12. Maintain the highest possible level of customer service.
  13. Interface with other departments as necessary to ensure the smooth operation and growth of the Organization.
  14. Other duties as assigned

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Has set working hours and arrives to work on time.
  2. Notifies manager of vacation and sick days in a timely manner.
  3. Minimum of 2 years of mortgage sales or operations experience preferred.
  4. Communicates challenges and opportunities to Manager.
  5. Ability to be flexible, multi-task and organize priorities in a fast paced work environment, while maintaining a high level of focus and accuracy.
  6. Effective verbal and written communications skills
  7. Knowledge of mortgage industry practices and regulations
  8. Strong analytical skills, combined with sound judgment and decision making abilities
  9. High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
  10. Strong customer service values and the ability to deliver a high level of responsiveness to both internal and external customers
  11. High level of computer literacy
  12. Maintain knowledge and adhere to all regulations and compliance standards on internal and external policies.
