Mortgage Loan Processor L(Inter National Bank)

The Mortgage Loan Processor supports the Mortgage Operations Manager and Underwriter(s) in fulfilling the loan origination, processing and closing responsibilities. In addition, the Mortgage Loan Processor ensures the timely and accurate packaging of all loans originated by the mortgage lending officers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The duties listed below may not include all responsibilities that the person in this role may be asked to perform. Incumbent may be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

1. Inputs proper loan information into the loan origination system for processing.
2. Ensures all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified and complies with company policy and investor guidelines.
3. Verifies loan documents including income, credit, appraisal, assets and title insurance, amongst other documents.
4. Orders appraisals upon contract and/or receipt of plans and specs or contract, depending on loan type.
5. Updates data on loan origination system as soon as documents are received.
6. Must be able to process loans according to broker, secondary market and internal policy guidelines.
7 Effectively communicates loan status and issues with Loan Officer and/or Supervisor.
8. Follows up on submitted loans and/or pended loans.
9. Serves as a liaison between the customer, sales representative, and the underwriting department.
10. Prepares and reviews loan file for completeness in preparation for submission to underwriting.
11. Clears conditions as provided by underwriting making sure all items pending are requested.
12. Meets crucial deadlines to ensure a timely closing.
13. Performs any additional duties/activities assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. • High School diploma required.
• Minimum two years mortgage experience processing residential mortgage and construction loans. One year preferred processing FHA residential mortgage loans.
• Knowledgeable in basic mortgage loan compliance.
• Ability to deliver high quality customer service, meet deadlines and work collaboratively across departmental lines.
• Strong verbal, written and telephone communication skills. Proven organization skills with aptitude to prioritize and multi-task.
• Ability to read and understand title documents, appraisal reports, credit reports and loan applications.
• Collect data, review documents, define problems to establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to resolve complicated issues as they arise and possess solid analytical skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point. Must be able to process loans through Client DU/DO and interpret results. Proficient in using loan origination systems.
• NMLS or SAFE Act registration preferred, but not mandatory.
