Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Mortgage Underwriter, you will be responsible for performing credit analysis with or without the assistance of a system, validating loan application and supporting documentation, and investigating borrower's ability to repay the mortgage debt. In addition, you will be accountable for reviewing and authenticating income, asset, credit, title, value and fraud report as well as updating system record when required.

Additional duties for this credit underwriting analysis role include, but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing all loans to substantiate they meet company's requirements and guidelines
  • Confirming government required documents are complete and accurate along with ensuring required information is in system
  • Pulling credit report and reviewing title information, and purchase contract
  • Certifying system data integrity
  • Maintaining production standards goals as established by management
  • Making changes to underwrites when additional information has been received
  • Reviewing quality control tools and interpreting DU/LP/GUS/TotalScoreCard
  • Supporting in the mentoring and training of Junior Underwriters
  • Evaluating complex income tax returns to establish qualify income
  • Assisting in resolving branch post-closing suspense issues
  • Answering and researching general underwriting questions vial email or telephone

Senior Mortgage Underwriter – Financial Analyst (Full Time / Finance / Credit)
Job Requirements
We are looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Financial Analyst who combines an analytical mindset with strong work ethic. It is important that you demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team with solid decision making skills. In addition, you should display advanced verbal, written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Specific qualifications for this credit finance role include:
  • High school diploma or GED; College Degree, preferred
  • Previous underwriting experience in mortgage
  • Strong knowledge of loan program products, services, and policies
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations as well as solid understanding of HMDA, Regulation Z, Regulation B, FHLMC, Client, FHA rules and processes
  • Previous involvement with (AUS) automated underwriting systems
  • In-depth knowledge of loan origination systems as well as paperless file environment and image software repository
  • Solid computer skills with proficiency in MS Office products, internet browsers, and emails
