Processes mortgage loan applications. Assembles, validates and verifies the accuracy and completion of all loan documentation necessary for closing loans. Answer routine questions regarding the loan process.
Essential Functions
  • Conducts preliminary evaluation of loan applicant and properties to meet investor, insurers and Bank qualifications.
  • Processes the loan from application through requesting closing documents from the HLC closers, completing all necessary documentation.
  • Sets up (third party order outs) all loans and loan applications. Maintains loan application files and correspondence files.
  • Orders flood determination, appraisals, title reports, escrow, tax transcripts and other documentation as needed in support of the loan origination process.
Related Functions
  • Monitors designated mailboxes, processing received files in accordance with established guidelines
  • Escalates documentation issues which may adversely impact the original credit decision
  • Attends classes/seminars and read literature to maintain a working knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to mortgage lending
  • Complies with department policies and procedures to insure maximum efficiency and standardization.
  • Proficient knowledge of mortgage loans, legal, regulatory and environmental issues.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professional demeanor
  • High degree of PC based technical skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Suite and core applications including banking and real estate applications
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain excellent relationships with management, staff, and team members, using diplomacy and tact effectively to solve problems and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including extensive knowledge of spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills; ability to coordinate own work and work independently with minimal supervision
