Escrow Assistant (Western Title & Escrow Company)

Location: Newport, Oregon
Under the direction of an escrow officer or supervisor, this position prepares escrows for the closing of real property transactions in which title is insured, and coordinates the review, document control, and recording of all recordable documents from the company transactions.
Duties typically include but not limited to:
  • Responsible for ordering loan payoffs, HOA fees, taxes, clearing judgments, and any liens necessary to clear title
  • Accurately complete daily banking
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution of office supplies
  • Set up escrow transactions upon receiving new escrow orders. Process deposits of earnest money and mail out necessary forms and preliminary title reports to principals for review.
  • Prepare and deliver preliminary projected HUD-1's to lender upon request.
  • Prepare additional documents and/or escrow instructions as instructed by principals based on written instructions to escrow.
  • Forward title clearing documentation to title officer for approval.
  • Return executed loan packages to lender for review and approval in accordance to lender instructions.
  • Prepare and deliver recording packages based on escrow instructions and verifying that appropriate title premiums and recording fees have been collected.
  • Disburse escrow files in accordance with the written settlement statements upon receipt of funds
  • Maintain internal escrow database and required reporting
  • Coordinate and assist with branch escrow department for assistance with escrow transactions
  • Assist branch Escrow Officers and/or Branch Manager with other duties as assigned

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Previous experience in title/escrow industry highly preferred or;
  • Previous experience in an assistant role or progressively responsible administrative position
