Junior Mortgage Processor (Peoples National Bank)

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Support underwriters and mortgage bankers/mortgage banker assistants on a daily basis; maintain accuracy and integrity of pipeline. Ensure excellent customer service (internal and external) and meet the internal service standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process FHA/VA/CONV/RH/Mortgage Revenue Bond loans within established guidelines and procedures for accuracy and efficiency.

Obtain/verify financial information as required by FHA/VA/CONV/RH/Mortgage Revenue Bond loan products to include additional information required by Peoples.

Manage REGB and HMDA requirements in a timely manner.

Meet weekly with mortgage bankers to discuss pipeline progression and strategy.

Ensure that the information in the field screens for the processors are accurate and complete and meets the required fields to submit to underwriting.

Place orders for various services such as agency case numbers, tax transcripts, appraisals, flood certs, written verifications, title reports, homeowner's insurance and payoffs.

Follow up on orders to third parties to ensure timely delivery.

Upload documents into Encompass.

Document the conversation log in the loan file with all activities.

Meet internal service standards.

Required Experience:
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Minimum one year of retail FHA/VA/CONVENTIONAL residential loan experience required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well as a team player and assist other teams as needed.

Ability to organize work and be flexible on priorities and urgencies.

Ability to interpret agency policies and Peoples procedures to customers.

Demonstrated ability to use discretion, tact, and diplomacy when dealing with customers, third parties, and co-workers.

Good math, typing, and computer skills with experience using Microsoft products.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.

Analytical ability.

Problem solving skills.

Attention to detail.

Thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance issues affecting all aspects of the lending process.

Familiarity of local financial marketplace.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Position will entail extended periods of sitting and or standing.

Position may require some overtime.

Flexibility to assist with schedule shifts/shortages.
