This position is located at the Joplin LPO location.
The incumbent is responsible for originating secondary market mortgage loans. Examine, evaluate and authorize or recommend approval of customer applications. Cross sell other services of the bank.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Interview potential loan customers.
  • Prepare disclosures, provide and explain them to the customers.
  • Notify customer by mail, telephone or in person acceptance or rejection of application.
  • Process loan application for approval based upon lending policies of bank and the investors.
  • Maintain contact with customer for any updated information for processing of mortgage loans.
  • Assist customer with questions pertaining to new or existing loans.
  • Make sales calls as appropriate.
  • Cross sell other services of the bank.

  • This position requires the employee to be familiar with all consumer compliance regulations that apply to the services s/he provides to customers. It is the responsibility of this position to remain current with applicable regulatory compliance requirements. This may be accomplished by attendance at various compliance training sessions and/or by completing periodic, job function-specific compliance training. It is also the responsibility of this position to report any incidence or perceived incidence of customer harm immediately to management, via email or by submitting your issue or concern via the web Customer harm may be caused by failure to comply with regulatory compliance requirements or other issues. It is the responsibility of this position to follow all documented policies and procedures that are designed to prevent customer harm, and to follow the bank's Complaint Management Policy and Procedures
May supervise one employee in the bank. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the bank's policies and applicable laws. Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or university; or five years related experience and/or training and one year management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Familiarity with and working knowledge of Microsoft applications Word, Excel, and Access. Must be at ease working from Excel databases and Word databases simultaneously. Should be able to use a computer keyboard efficiently and type at a minimum of 35 WPM.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Insurance license for credit life or mortgage life. Must hold a valid driver's license. Must have an active NMLS number.
