Mortgage Loan Processor (Champion Credit Union)

Provides confidential, professional, administrative support for the Mortgage Department that includes a wide range of administrative duties to be handled with confidentiality and discretion where required. Answers questions from members on real estate loans and rates. Provides members with applications, interviews for routine loans or to obtain additional information, and sets up appointments with mortgage loan officer. Collates, reviews and verifies a myriad of loan documents for accuracy for real estate transactions. Projects a positive image as representation for the Mortgage Department in receiving visitors and guests, and when answering telephones.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • High School graduate or equivalent. Business degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years current mortgage processing or mortgage closing experience.
  • Proficient in the use of CCU operating system (Symitar).

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as regulatory instructions, policy manuals, task documentation, and procedure manuals. Ability to write clearly and concisely in producing routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to use reasoning and logic that result in solving problems for members as they seek financing.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must be able to obtain NMLS certification/registration.

TECHNICAL SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Ability to operate office equipment and software used in word processing, as well as laser printers, photocopiers, telephones, voice mail, email, Internet and fax machines.
  • Knowledge in word processing and presentation software, spreadsheet, and other software programs.
  • Fully knowledgeable in credit union terminology and acronyms commonly utilized in the day to day communication of staff, policymakers and others involved in the credit union system, or the ability to learn.
PERFORMANCE SKILLS:
  • Ability to manage time; coordinate several projects at once; multitask.
  • Able to follow established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to deal with all levels and departments of the organization.
