Mortgage Loan Processor III (Central National Bank)

Role
To process mortgage loan files and prepare mortgage closing documents in an accurate and timely manner, following agency and department guidelines and procedures without supervision.This person may oversee or assist Mortgage Processors I and II as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Review loan files received for completeness and compliance with mortgage regulations, agency guidelines, and department policies and procedures.

  • Review and if necessary, re disclose initial Good Faith Estimate and Trust in Lending; and send initial status reviews to Originators.

  • Update application information on loan processing software.

  • Collect documentation as required to support information provided on the loan application.

  • Submit information to automated evaluation systems.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all files and submit completed loan files to Underwriting.

  • Follow Underwriters directions in preparing commitments letters; order and review pre closing documents as needed on a file by file basis (Credit Reports, Title Commitments, Surveys, Well Inspections, Insurance, Payoffs, etc.).

  • Effectively communicate with Originators and all interested parties, relative information on the loan status, underwriting conditions, closing requirements, closing dates, etc.

  • Prepare HUD Settlement Statement and coordinate closing details with the designated settlement agents.

  • Prepare and deliver all loan closing documents in an accurate and timely manner without unresolved errors.

  • Train and assist Mortgage Processors I and II with the department.

  • Focus on continuing education to keep abreast of new developments and changes within the mortgage industry.

  • Other duties assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Experience - Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education - A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills - A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary. Should have a commitment to giving the best service possible.
Other Skills - Must have good communication skills and be able to multi task. Ten key calculator, typewriter and keyboard skills. Should be proficient in Microsoft office products such as word and excel as well as e mail and internet usage. Detail oriented and precise in work. Ability to work well under time deadlines and be flexible. Must be able to manage high volumes of work and pressure with intense focus and good memory. Mathematical aptitude and analytical skills. Mortgage lending and/or real estate, title company or legal experience required.
