Mortgage Loan Processor (Family Trust Federal Credit Union)

The employee in this position will be responsible for various duties and tasks relating to processing mortgage files and preparing them for closing both in house and with secondary market investors. This position will also centrally process home equity files as originated in the branch offices as well as being a primary contact for members, employees, and other outside personnel regarding questions related to mortgage loans in process.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain a high level of service and professionalism by being the initial point of contact for members inquiring with general questions about mortgage products and services via telephone, on-line, and in person. This will also include being the initial contact person for Family Trust employees with questions.

• Process home equity loan application received from branch offices to include obtaining and reviewing required documents prior to closing, scheduling closings with attorneys, and assisting with post-closing reviews.

• Assist the mortgage loan officers with scheduling appointments and distributing loan referrals from credit union employees, and pre-qualifying members on a case-by-case basis.

• Cross sell other credit union products and services based on member need .

• Keeps informed of current trends in the mortgage lending and markets factors affecting mortgage lending, including but not limited to specific investor and othery secondary market guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Process mortgage loan files, including contacting borrowers to obtain required documents, compiling files in proper order, uploading investor files, scheduling closings with attorneys, and reviewing documentation for investor and regulatory compliance.


1. A minimum of 1-2 years of mortgage processing experience with
consumer lending experience desired but not required.
2. A high school education is required, with additional education
desired. Work-related experience with proven performance may be
considered in lieu of formal education.
