Job Responsibilities :
The Inside Loan Officer is responsible for advising customers regarding their options for obtaining a new mortgage or refinancing an existing mortgage. This position will primarily address customer referrals from Bay Bank branch partners but will also take inbound "warm " call transfers and internet referrals. The Inside Loan Officer will also be responsible for processing files reviewed by the Underwriter.
- Communicate with prospective borrowers to determine financing objectives and goals.
- Present appropriate Bay Bank products and programs and explain guidelines.
- Ability to analyze complex scenarios and documentation with regard to the origination and processing of mortgage loans
- Assist borrower in completing loan application in person or on-line and provide required disclosures.
- Review and analyze borrower credit and financial data.
- Apprise of pricing and rate lock as required.
- Collect supporting loan documentation, including pay stubs, tax returns and bank statements and provide complete package to Mortgage Loan Set-up Coordinator.
- Obtain required documentation in a timely manner and work with the customer to satisfy all outstanding conditions for the Underwriter to review
- Communicate as needed with third-party vendors
- Provide customer with timely and periodic status updates of the their application
- Coordinate settlement of approved loans with Bay Bank Closing department.
- Develop and maintain successful relationships with business referral sources
- Adherence to established turn times and productivity metrics
- Maintain the data integrity of loan files and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Skills:
- Must have previous Mortgage experience to include, product knowledge, knowledge of Mortgage regulations, and applicable Mortgage products and systems.
- Minimum of 2 years of mortgage experience required.
- Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work with enthusiasm in an environment of frequently changing priorities; the willingness to proactively address urgent and sensitive matters.
- Working knowledge of Client, FHLMC, FHA, VA and other investor lending guidelines preferred.
- Must have good organizational skills and be very analytical and detail oriented with the ability to deal with multiple priorities.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be NMLS registered.
Education and Experience:
- Four-year degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with a minimum 2 years of work experience in a Mortgage Company and/or Bank in related field.
- Four years of mortgage specific work experience can be substituted for the educational requirement
