WHAT ARE THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION?
  • Works independently to identify Home Finance prospects, with the intent to sell mortgage and home equity products to consumers by generating leads and converting leads or referrals to applications
  • Establishes a presence in the community by maintaining strong relationships, actively promoting State Farm Bank, and cultivating business through outside agencies, and third party vendors
  • Markets State Farm Bank mortgage products to consumers and external sources of business
  • Recognizes sales opportunities and refers leads to State Farm Agents for other Bank and insurance products
  • Submits well-prepared mortgage applications with accurate and complete data supported by timely submission of all necessary documentation
  • Responsible for counseling and educating borrowers of mortgage products on product options and the loan process, as well as, providing timely and accurate communication throughout the process
  • Provides strong understanding of Bank Lending policies and practices, knowledge of acceptable loan documentation needs, and knowledge of product features and structure
  • Keeps current with State Farm Bank policies/guidelines, secondary market mortgage guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Exhibits the highest levels of professionalism, product knowledge, customer service and resolution to customer concerns

WHAT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS POSITION?
  • Demonstrates extensive knowledge and experience with mortgage products and pricing, underwriting requirements, and compliance regulation when working with consumers and internal/external contacts
  • Exhibits strong sales aptitude while marketing products with careful consideration for providing remarkable customer service
  • Communicates clearly, thoroughly, timely, and in simple terms to a diverse group of customers, referral sources, and other State Farm associates
  • Aligns solutions with customer needs and resolves customer issues when needed
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the State Farm Bank mortgage operations, department goals, and philosophies on an ongoing basis
  • Works independently with little supervision

  • Position may require working irregular schedules/hours
  • Position requires federal registration and successful completion of background checks
  • Incumbents are required to acquire and maintain appropriate national and state licenses and/or certifications in order to support the sales process of designated State Farm Bank products and services, including meeting requirements and standards under the S.A.F.E. Act

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Applicant will be working from home in Frisco, Texas with the official location TBD. Candidates must have at least 2 years of mortgage loan originator experience.

***This position will be federally registered under State Farm Bank and will not require individually state licensing***

The Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for proactively soliciting new residential mortgage business to meet established loan quality and production goals. In this on-going sales role, the Mortgage Loan Originator continually identifies, develops and maintains a quality network of business relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities and is enhanced by the Mortgage Loan Originator's regular participation in business related development opportunities, community efforts to promote home ownership and professional organizations. The Mortgage Loan Originator responds to customer inquiries and referrals that are generated from both their own contacts and from other company business channels. Responsibilities for this position may include conducting interviews with prospective borrowers in order to analyze financial and credit data, determine customer financing objectives, notify customers of product/pricing policies and guidelines, and gather any additional required information. The Mortgage Loan Originator ensures exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State compliance policies and adhering to all company requirements. Position must be able to build strong relationships with all levels of the company and interface with all internal and external contacts in a professional manner. Position will interact with borrowers, employees, and internal departments to ensure loans are being processed in a timely and efficient manner. The Mortgage Loan Originator must provide exceptional customer service on a daily basis.

Entry into a Bank position may require passing additional background checks, including a credit check.
