Residential Mortgage Loan Officer (Bank of England)

Loan Officers serve as a main contactpoint for Borrower and Retail Operations with the loan origination process. Itis expected of them to take the initiative to generate their own client baseand/or work leads provided by Bank of England Mortgage. Stay abreast of newtypes of loans and other financial products in order to better meet thecustomers¿ needs. The Loan Officer must meet or exceed the set weekly and/ormonthly production goals management has established. Communicate with theirManager/Supervisor on a daily or weekly basis regarding personal production.Meet strict deadlines and maintain compliance. Resolve issues/difficultiesacross multiple departments while maintaining a high level of customer serviceto internal and external customers while meeting their expectations.

EssentialFunctions/Duties :
Meetwith applicants to obtain information for loan applications and answerapplicant¿s questions regarding the loan process. Input loan applicationinformation into Encompass System.
Obtainand compile copies of loan applicants¿ credit histories, corporate financialstatements and other financial information. Prepares mortgage loan file byreviewing loan application, clarifying or obtaining additional information asnecessary.
Submitapplications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation. Initiate preliminary research needed on theloan to help determine mortgage eligibility. Analyze applicants¿ financialstatus, credit and property evaluations to determine feasibility of grantingloans.
Facilitatesmortgage loan applications process by interfacing with Borrower insupplementing additional needed data for completed applications.
Explainto customers the different types of loans and credit options that areavailable, as well as the terms of those services.
Conferwith Underwriters to aid in resolving mortgage application problems.
Workclosely with processors, closers and underwriters. Assists in coordinatingclosing appointments in conjunction with the closing staff.
Maintainsand ensures complete and accurate compliance with RESPA, Regulation Z, FairLending, HMDA, Bank Secrecy Act and other regulations regarding the mortgageapplication process.
ReviewLoans to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.Compute payment schedules. Approve loans within specified limits and refer loanapplicants outside those limits to management for approval. Review and updatecredit and loan files.
Handlecustomer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.
Marketloan products to individuals promoting services that may meet the customers¿needs.
Understandsand complies with mortgage industry regulations, including the Fair CreditReporting Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the CommunityReinvestment Act, Truth-in-Lending laws, etc.
ProtectCompany¿s reputation and image by maintaining Borrower confidence, deliver ahigh level of customer service and by keeping mortgage loan informationconfidential.
Attendbi-monthly and or weekly production meetings with staff and management.
ColdCalling on Leads (provided) by telephone and follow-up on same Leads bytelephone.
ColdCalling (Self-Sourcing Leads) by telephone and follow-up on same Leads bytelephone.
Takingapplications by telephone or in person with the customer.
Analyzing,reviewing and resolving application issues prior to submitting to LoanProcessing.
Gatherall necessary and required documentation for loan approvals.
CustomerFollow-Up during loan processing through channels to be approved and after loanis approved and closed.

Position Requirements :
HighSchool Diploma or GED equivalent required; some college preferred; Collegedegree desired.
Intermediatecomputer skills (MS Office, Mortgage Loan Applications/Software)
Minimumof 1 year recent full-time work experience in mortgage loan industry.
Excellentcustomer service skills; written and oral communication skills and ability todemonstrate control, flexibility and maintain quality and high productivitywhen dealing with customers and changing work demand. Must possess basic PC skills inMicrosoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint and Excel or equivalent software. Encompassexperience desired.
Demonstrate effective and strongverbal and listening communication skills with the ability to effectivelycommunicate with principals, executive management and clients.
Demonstrate the assertiveness,perseverance, energy and passion - results oriented behavior required to besuccessful in this role.
Demonstrate effective problem solving,planning & time management skills.
