Job Summary:
The Loan Officer Assistant position supports one or more Loan Officers by ensuring loan files are complete and loans close as scheduled. Supports the marketing activities of the assigned loan officers and provides administrative support.

Essential Job Functions:
-Takes complete loan applications
-Runs credit
-Runs pricing
-Prequalifies clients for loan program
-Runs D/U
-Runs and prints a MI quote (if applicable) to put in the file
-Gathers all initial documentation from client
-Requests loan disclosures once a contract is in
-Signs clients who want to sign initial disclosures in person
-Submits loan to processor within 24 hours of receiving disclosures back
-Finishes the processing milestone in encompass & sends all documentation to processing in an email, along with a brief intro to the file
-Makes sure we have all the basics in the file when turning it over to the Processor.
-Processor is not used as a cleanup person. (Tax returns, 1099,W-2, Bank statements, Retirement accounts, Bankruptcy paperwork, pension awards letters, SS awards letters, all explanation letters for deposits, etc.)
-Gets all borrower and realtor conditions requested by Processor
-Locks Loans (informs processor when loan is locked) in order to re-disclose
-Meets with clients (takes phone calls) over any concerns during the process
-Has a weekly meeting with the processor to go over status on all files
-Monitors the loan through close
-Assists Loan Officer in preparing preliminary loan packages for processing by obtaining missing documentation and other information from customers
-Utilizes information gathered by the Mortgage Loan Originator to prequalify customers
-Responds to customers; general questions regarding policy and procedures in the absence of the -Loan Officer
-Works with appraisers to obtain official appraisalUpdates customers, real estate agents, and titles companies on the loan progress
-Coordinates and schedules loans closings
-Maintains Loan Officers databases of customer information
-Assists Loan Officers with marketing campaigns through mail, email, and internet
-Performs other administrative tasks, such as faxing, emailing, making telephone calls, to support the Loan Officer

Required Knowledge and Skills:
-Solid knowledge and understanding of conventional, government (FHA/VA), and Jumbo loan requirements
-Solid knowledge and understanding of state and federal real estate lending regulations
-Solid knowledge and understanding of customer service and intrapersonal best practices
Required Education and Experience:
-High School diploma or equivalency degree
-Prior mortgage lending or related sales experienced preferred
-NMLS License within 190 days of start date
-Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting data
-Demonstrated experience making solid business decisions with available information
-Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced and changing environment
-Demonstrated experience with attention to detail, written and oral communication, multi-tasking, and working in a team atmosphere adhering to tight deadlines
-Demonstrated experience with MS Office software products including 10 key
Physical Environment:
-This position is primarily an in office position
