The Mortgage Loan Processor isresponsible for processing real estate loans in accordance with establishedguidelines and regulatory requirements, and accurately submitting tounderwriting for approval.
The successful candidatewill be able to:
Accurately prepare and deliver all required customer disclosures in accordance with established guidelines and required timeframes. Ensures timely receipt and proper completion of all loan documents in accordance with established procedures; organizes documentation in established file order for underwriter review. Order third-party services and documents, as applicable. Conduct timely review of documentation for accuracy and completeness; follow up on outstanding items, as required. Prioritize workload to manage timely submission of loan files to underwriting; track files and clear underwriting conditions to meet all expected closing dates. Complete regulatory compliance functions timely and accurately using established processes. Provide regular status updates to loan officers on file progress Prepare and deliver customer notifications and internal forms for declined and withdrawn applications. Cross-train within the department to provide back-up, as needed; contributes to the success of the department with willingness to share in all department responsibilities.
High School Diploma or equivalent, required. 1 - 2 years recent experience in a mortgage and/or consumer lending operations and/or support role - required. Previous loan processing experience - preferred. Mortgage Loan Processor II requires 3+ years¿ recent loan processing experience and demonstrated ability to process all loan types (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Brokered, etc.) and is expected to independently process a higher loan volume. Thorough knowledge of the current regulations related to real estate loans. Provides an exceptional level of quality service for internal/external customers. Excellent listening, verbal, written and telephone etiquette business communication skills, with the ability to communicate outstanding/follow up issues over the phone, in person and via email; with the ability to read, write, speak and understand English well. Understands and applies principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to assigned area, as well as the Bank¿s policies, procedures, products, and services. General working knowledge of lending practices, disclosures and terminology. Understanding of income calculations and ability to accurately review and analyze a variety of income scenarios. Demonstrated working knowledge and ability to understand and review system reports to monitor and prioritize workload. Strong organizational, time management, data review and processing skills. Demonstrated self-motivational skills and the ability to work in a high pressure, high-volume production-oriented environment while ensuring deadlines are met. Demonstrated problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy. Unquestionable integrity in handling sensitive and confidential information required. Proficient PC experience using MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), and loan origination software, with the ability to adapt to and learn new technologies quickly. Familiarity with Encompass product - desired.
Climate controlled office environment. Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions, and frequent employee and customer contacts and interruptions during the day. Work requires regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule and or extended hours, as needed.
Work may involve the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, and sitting throughout the day. Ability to operate a computer keyboard, multi-line telephone, photocopier, scanner and facsimile which often requires dexterity of hands and fingers with repetitive wrist and hand motion. Typically sitting at a desk or table; intermittently standing, stooping, bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to file materials. Occasional lifting 5 - 10 lbs (i.e., loan files, boxes).
