Real Estate Investment Position

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge across the breadth of the real estate development and/or investment industry, including acquisitions, asset management, financing strategies, financial modelling, cash flow analysis, risk management, etc. This position will report to the Director of Investments. Job title and compensation will be commensurate with experience.
The ideal candidate will possess the following professional qualifications:
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently;
  • Candidate must be a self-starter and can work effectively with minimum supervision ;
  • Candidate must be comfortable with new concepts and have the ability to quickly learn issues regarding international fund flows (prior knowledge is not a requirement, just the ability to learn quickly) ;
  • Candidates must be able to successfully interact with a broad range of individuals including senior professionals at joint venture partner companies, internationally based senior management and senior level international investors;
  • Candidates must be comfortable working in a small team environment with a start-up atmosphere;
  • Candidates must have advanced knowledge Microsoft Excel particularly in modeling development projects and waterfall returns;
  • Candidate must have strong PowerPoint and Word experience for preparation of investment committee presentations;
  • Prior experience or exposure to project management is a plus but not required;
  • Candidate must have Argus skills;
  • Candidate should have 4-8 years relevant experience, preferably in major markets of the West Coast;
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. legally without requiring visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities:
Selected candidates will focus primarily on acquisitions and asset management of portfolio properties. Responsibilities will include:
  • Transaction underwriting and due diligence material collection, organization, and review;
  • Financial modeling and analysis, including acquisition, investment return and waterfall models;
  • Deal sourcing and transaction screening;
  • Preparation of investment committee materials;
  • Real estate market research;
  • Assisting in strategic review of new business initiatives;
  • Coordination with and education of team members at corporate headquarters;
  • Assisting with asset management, including production of monthly reports and investment return analyses in support of strategic recommendations;
  • Working closely with joint venture partners and third party property managers to maximize performance of investments;
  • Assisting in fund formation strategies and analyses.
