TELESIS Corporation has an opening for a Senior Storage (SAN, DataDomain) Engineer with experience. The individual selected for this position will be assigned to work full time at FT. Myer, VA. This individual will provide Storage Services and architect, engineer, install, manage, operate and maintain Storage Infrastructure and related components and connectivity at the customer site.


The Systems Administrator will support the Government in systems administration. Primary focus may consist of the following:
  • Experience servicing and supporting the following Storage Area Networks (SAN) environments: 3 PAR SAN, Dell EMC and Nutanix.
  • Support requirements from a customer and to maintain VMWare, Windows, and Linux Platform solutions in test and production, connected to the Storage Infrastructure;
  • Troubleshoot related service issues including outages, anomalous behavior, and slow response class of problems. Outages may be on critical systems and candidates must be able to work methodically through these stressful events;
  • Provide recommendations to optimize the storage infrastructure for storage, network, VMWare, Windows and Linux operation and performance for connected devices;
  • Document all platform service processes and procedures and maintain the artifacts in a document repository;
  • Perform systems operation support, including storage and server system administration, general troubleshooting, and troubleshooting of complex engineering issues for hardware, software, and network components;
  • Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and execution in support of customer requirements;
  • Support data center consolidation efforts;
  • Provide expertise and assistance in migrations to managed service(s).


The ideal candidate will be personable, articulate, and will focus on making sure that the customer's IT needs are met quickly and effectively. Candidate or Candidate will be a self-starter who can work with limited supervision. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively interface with customers on-site and with staff at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (JBM-HH) and the Regional Network Enterprise Center – National Capitol Region (RNEC-Client).
  • Solid hands-on knowledge of and experience with 3 PAR SAN, Dell EMC and Nutanix SAN solutions is required for this position;
  • Senior level understanding of 3 PAR SAN, Dell EMC and Nutanix systems, Windows Server design, configuration and administration;
  • Experience handling senior level responsibilities related to maintaining production with reliable and stable operations that includes but not limited to Senior level understanding of Windows Services and Servers, 3 PAR SAN, Dell EMC and Nutanix Storage Services and Servers, Advanced Troubleshooting, and advanced Windows Server integration;
  • PowerShell Scripting experience;
  • System (hardware) and application (software) installation and configuration;
  • System monitoring using installed tools as well as external tools;
  • Experience with configuration, troubleshooting and maintaining virtual and cloud environments;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Ability to multitask and function in a fast-paced environment;
  • Manage and set storage data retention, streams, deduplication policies.
  • Experience implementing NetApp storage solutions
  • Support Netapp backing (volumes, CIFS, etc) for backups with SnapProtect;
  • Understand how to manage snapshots;
  • Overall related experience with a Windows\NETAPP Storage and server environments;

  • High-school diploma or educational equivalent required; diploma from a technical or vocational school or have acquired equivalent military/DoD training. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred. Work experience or industry certifications demonstrating technical proficiency may be substituted for education requirements;
  • Five (5) or more years of overall related experience with a 3 PAR SAN, Dell EMC and Nutanix environments; additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.
Candidate must possess the following certifications in order to meet the DoD Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II Information Assurance (IA) Requirement:
Applicant must have and maintain at least one of the following Information Assurance (IA) certifications prior to beginning employment:
  • CompTIA, Security+ ce
  • CISCO, Cisco Certified Network Associate – Security (CCNA-Security)
  • GIAC, Security Essentials Certification: (GSEC)
  • ISC2, System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)
Higher certifications that meet IAT III requirements are also acceptable. (Must be approved and verified by management.)
Applicant must also have at least one of the following Computing Environment (CE) certifications within 180 days from his/her start date*:
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Windows Server 2008 / 2012 (Desired)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Server Infrastructure (Desired)
  • Storage Area Network related industry Certification (Preferred) 
    *Approved training may suffice for actual certification.
