Position Overview: 
This position is responsible for ensuring the continued day-to-day operation of the MCSC Integration & Test NOCs.  This position is also responsible for the creation of the software templates for both I&T and Operations.
 
Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Responsible for performing continuous system checks of all software and hardware to ensure full system functionality of Windows, Solaris, and Linux based servers within the Mission Command Support Center Integration and Test NOCs.
  • Maintain and update I&T documentation, to include cut-sheets, parameter sheets, etc. as needed.
  • Maintain configuration management of all NOC Configurations.
  • Provide the I&T Lead with a daily summary of actions required and completed tasks.
  • Identify potential issues and proactively provide solutions to I&T Lead.
  • Coach and mentor peers to ensure personnel are working issues as efficiently and accurately as possible in a team oriented professional environment by providing input for quarterly training, new employee training, and new equipment training.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all virtual and physical deployments that directly support the I&T NOCs to include the following:
    • Creation of JCR and JBC-P NOC Templates utilizing software discs provided by the respective developers.
    • Deployment and configuration of JBC-P and JCR NOC Servers across multiple Integration & Test NOCs.
    • Deployment of Mission Command Servers across multiple Integration & Test NOCs.
    • Deployment and configuration of Nexus servers across multiple Integration & Test NOCs.
  • Provides engineer level technical support to customers when calls are received.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to troubleshoot and recommend corrective actions for end users systems based on feedback from end users.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the NEH Array, to include racks, cabling, traffic key and firmware loading.
  • Provide training on systems to new I&T Administrators.
  • Will act as the I&T Lead in the event that the I&T Lead is not present for any reason.
    • Daily and As Required Tasks:
      • Conduct continuous system checks to ensure 100% operational posture.
      • Provide feedback on all tasks assigned by I&T Lead and ensure they are accomplished fully and in a proficient manner while meeting deadlines outlined within the task.
      • When calls are received from the field, ensure that the proper documentation is performed for the call.
      • Review any open tickets and process as necessary.
      • Log any activities into the Test Log on the FSC.
      • Dial-in to any necessary teleconferences as requested by the I&T Lead.
      • Provide verbal and written status updates to I&T Lead as necessary.
    • Weekly Tasks:
      • Review NOC configurations in conjunction with the I&T NOC Parameter sheets to ensure that all NOC configurations are documented accordingly.  If changes are made to any NOC Configurations, ensure that the I&T Parameter sheets are updated and the remainder of the I&T team is briefed of the changes.
      • Review Test Trouble tickets to ensure appropriate steps are taken based on ticket details.
    • Monthly Tasks:
      • COMSEC duties
        • Ensure that all I&T encryption hardware is updated with new COMSEC material when obtained from the COMSEC office.
        • Verify that all duties pertaining to COMSEC follow proper COMSEC procedures, including key rollover and deletion from all I&T NOCs.
 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3+ Years experience in system administration
  • 1-2 Years experience with VMWare systems and infrastructure
  • 1-2 Years experience working with Linux and Windows based systems
  • Strong working knowledge of networking concepts
  • Proficient with VMWare systems and infrastructure
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
