Manufacturing Engineer Permanent Position in Bartlett, IL

 Job Summary
Develop and implement optimal, cost effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.  Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls.
Responsibilities and Duties
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of Safety, Lean, Production and Process leading to cost reductions and process improvements
  • Assess ways to improve production efficiency, product throughput, first time yield, and Document manufacturing processes through work instructions, tool lists and bulletins
  • Evaluate production process, tooling and equipment to determine best methods to fabricate and assemble products
  • Establish new production cells as a member of product launch teams
  • Interact with operators on a routine basis to train and gather operator feedback on production operations and product flow
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years' experience preferably in a thin wall metal welding, forming, and fabrication environment
  • Solid knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement concepts and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machining/programming and of contemporary manufacturing processes
  • Experience in tool design for product manufacture and assembly, understands manufacturing cells concepts, and principles of Kanban systems
  • Understand and manage all aspects of the APQP process
