Title: Senior Network Engineer/Architect

Location: Torrance, CA
Duration: 12 Months

  • Responsibilities include planning, executing, and implementing large, complex Infrastructure projects by working closely with the business team members to accomplish the goals of the business and IT department
  • This includes creation of comprehensive project plans, and coordination of team members, third-party contractors, and consultants
  • Additional responsibilities include assisting with strategic plans and roadmaps for future Infrastructure initiatives; tracking project milestones and deliverables; identifying and mitigating issues; resolving conflicts with the project; and developing/presenting proposals, reports and project plans to management

Daily Tasks Performed
  • Serve as solution expert & engineer in support of delivering business goals via Networking, Unified Communication & Data Security technology
  • Engage as project engineer on activities, tasks & initiatives of varying size as determined by project and/or manager.
  • Function as a consultant and resource to internal team members as well as external business units as it relates to current and future infrastructure.
  • Responsible for establishing project plans, schedules, and documentation including configurations, support processes, and operating procedures.
  • Provide 3rd level and engineering management and support of Client's enterprise data & UC infrastructure.

BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong background in Layer 2, Layer 3 and Layer 4 technologies and the ability to work as a team to maintain infrastructure stability and technical certification as CCNP or JNCIP required
  • Deep understanding of routing and switching, firewalls, wireless, remote access VPN, site-to-site, network/application load balancing, DHCP, DNS, public key infrastructure, RADIUS, TACACS desired
  • Knowledge and experience with the following will also be required: Juniper Ethernet Switching, Cisco routing and switching. Proficient PC Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other technical software) and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills required

Business Experience Level:
  • 3-5 years experience working in an environment with LAN, regional and global MPLS networks including multiple remote site offices or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Works well within a team and adapts easily to change
  • A self-starter with a history of working unsupervised while achieving required goals
  • Experience in LAN/WAN network administration and engineering is a plus
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills
