Senior Program Manager Information Technology

Responsibilities
  • Develops the program strategy, supporting business case and various enterprise-wide high-level project plan
  • Ensures integration of projects and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on the needs of the business
  • Communicates with IT leadership, business leadership and IT Business Consultants to communicate program strategy, direction and changes
  • Responsible for delivering all projects contained in the IT project portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business requirements
  • Responsible for tracking key project milestones and recommending adjustments to Project Managers
  • Partners with senior leadership of the business community to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise
  • Works under general direction of senior level management
  • Responsible for managing all aspects of the design, development and implementation of the program
  • Directs and mentors a team of project managers, portfolio managers and/or other project management staff

Daily Tasks Performed
  • Managing a specific project (This Program Manager will have one assigned project)
  • Will coordinate and drive other Projects in the Program
  • Conducting status meetings as required
  • Projects in the program will be a mix of local and remote therefore requiring virtual meeting to support.
  • Compliance to SOX and Client IT Project Methodology of all projects within the program.
  • Utilize Waterfall methodology within well-established PMO process

Academic/Experience/Competency
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred.
  • Advanced ability in successfully managing complex, enterprise-wide IT programs.
  • Advanced understanding and ability to successfully manage complex program and project budgets
  • Advanced ability in mitigating risk and implementing contingency plans
  • Oversees implementation of program and project plans, monitors progress, resource usage and quality, and makes needed adjustments
  • Sets/evolves the vision of how project management should be done
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple project management strategies, disciplines, and theories
  • Advanced ability to implement project management strategies, disciplines, and theories into a shared vision.

Experience Level:
  • 12 to 17 years of IT work experience
  • 10 plus years managing complex IT projects

  • PMP/PgmP Certifications
  • IT Infrastructure Knowledge or IT Security Knowledge a plus.
