Requirements and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, operate a wide variety of heavy equipment vehicles (loader, excavator and jockey truck) that perform the handling and maneuvering of various materials.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned
  • Operates heavy equipment in compliance with Company operating safety policies and procedures
  • Conducts routine equipment inspections on equipment and maintains accurate records
  • Continuously monitors the condition of the equipment to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize downtime
  • Performs and documents minor service on equipment, referring more complicated mechanical issues to supervisor
  • Moves and positions raw materials and finished components with use of material moving equipment
  • Follow appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining vehicle
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Ensures work space is kept clean and prepped for subsequent shift operators
  • This job has no supervisory duties
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime hours
Required Skills and Abilities
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4-years of relevant work experience operating loaders, excavators and jockey trucks
  • Valid driver's license (minimum), CDL license an advantage
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner
  • Good follow through ability: ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks
  • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals
  • Driver's license (minimum); certificates, CDL, registrations or other requirements a plus
  • Ability to work within a cohesive team/unit
  • Ability to comprehend, speak and write using the English language
