The Network Engineer is responsible for developing network designs for implementation by the network services team. This Engineer designs both new networks and alterations to existing networks. The Network Engineer provides outstanding client service and contributes to the organization's mission of utilizing information technology to improve patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for large-scale network designs that meets both clients IT's needs and industry standards.
Develop scripts for deployment of the network design and test for design integrity.
Design changes and build-outs to the present network, utilizing the existing model.

Document and send planned changes, configurations, and their designs to the NCC for review.
In conjunction with the Network Services Group, meet and work with Product groups, ensuring that the business and user needs are met in the final design.

Provide services for new projects and client initiatives.
Adhere to specific project timelines by prioritizing client needs based on efficiency and immediacy of the project assigned.
Work with and consult all project specific members and clients to guarantee that the project is continuing towards a successful completion according to the requirements.
Participate in budgeting and procurement of necessary utilities for the project, ensuring that the designs can be deployed within budgetary parameters.

Responsible for optimal Switch, Router, and Distribution configurations.
Troubleshoot high level problems as required and works closely with the support team to ensure high quality customer support.
Client is a professional services organization with a matrix reporting structure. Associate's roles may differ depending on the project, however, their position and title remains the same.


Qualifications
Strong Cisco Router/Switch or Data Center Experience
CCNA Required : CCNP or CCIE Preferred
Working knowledge and experience in Cisco VOIP and DHCP/DNS
Working knowledge in Cisco Data Center Technologies such as VDC, VPC+, VRF, Fabric Path, OTV and Multicasting; as well as, Nexus 7k, 5k, 2k and virtualized 1K switches.
Working knowledge and experience using routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRRP, RIP 2 and network based ACL's.
Working knowledge and experience using switching protocols such as 802.1D, 802.1Q, 802.1ad, and STP.
Working knowledge and experience using network communication protocols (IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, DHCP, ARP, GRE, IP-CS, OSPF, DNS, SNMP, and FTP).
Working knowledge and experience using with network management protocols and tools such as SNMP, LDAP, AAA.
Strong working knowledge of WAN Communication technologies
Technical Documentation skills
CA Infrastructure Manager Network Monitoring Tool suite and Net MRI scripting a plus
