Title: IT Operations Analyst

The IT Operations Analysts role is to develop, coordinate, implement, and communicate the organizations initiatives for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems. This individual is responsible for ensuring that EDI-related production processes and procedures are maintained and properly executed, including manual and automated scheduled and adhoc processes. The IT Operations Analyst will also act as liaison between clients, end users and the IT staff implementing EDI-based applications and integrations.

Strategy & Planning
Participate in design and review of new applications and integration strategies of EDI systems.
Coordinate with development, network engineering, business application, and database administration function to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of EDI systems to meet business demands.
Define and implement strategies for integrating EDI and non-EDI operating environments.
Establish and implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure EDI system security.

Acquisition & Deployment
Conduct research on EDI-related hardware and software in support of procurement and system development efforts.
Work with application support teams to implement and QA upgrades to existing systems that impact EDI processes.

Operational Management
Monitor, Coordinate and Maintain EDI operational processes including automatic, manual, scheduled and adhoc processes.
Coordinate and administer key process improvements to EDI system implementations.
Lead transitions of EDI systems to next-generation environments and/or cross-functional business systems.
Perform system configuration, mapping, and management for EDI-based transactions and processes.
Define and perform EDI system backups and recovery procedures.
Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports.
Compare compatibility of EDI-related products to company systems and make recommendations.
Install, coordinate, and troubleshoot EDI-related products and supporting applications.
Perform data audits and quality control measures.
Recommend and execute modifications to EDI systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Develop and maintain EDI process documentation.
Develop and maintain EDI training materials and systems documentation.
Provide off hours coverage of production processes
Manage and track EDI issues and requests through service desk

Position Requirements
Formal Education & Certification
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent.
5 years working in EDI positions.

Knowledge & Experience
In depth knowledge of HIPAA transaction sets.
In depth knowledge of healthcare data and code sets.
3-5 years experience developing and using EDI interfaces.
Knowledge of EDI standard formats (ANSI X12, EDIFACT, etc.) and EDI translators.
Hands-on process troubleshooting experience
Working technical knowledge of coding using MS-Access, MS-Excel.
2-3 years experience creating SQL statements and queries
